Exploration: The Ultimate Guide to Turtle Wow Guild Bases.

Post by Vallmoo » Sun Mar 17, 2024 10:06 pm

Hello there,

I'm Vallcow, played Turtle Wow for a couple of years now and I love exploring every possible place in the game.

The guide below includes all 36 guild bases known to be in game with a short description, location, some tips on how to get there and screenshots.

Image

A word about access difficulty:

I have visited all the guild bases listed below as a lvl 60 solo warrior. No summons from guild members. Yes, it's possible, but some of them require thinking out of the box, using specific items or skills, wall climbing or using specific consumes. Or sometimes all at once.

Each base has an access rating, those could be easy, medium or hard.

EASY: Any level 60 character can get there without any gear or specific consumes needed. Usually it's just a run or a swim. Lower levels can visit them too, just check if the zone level won't kill you.

MEDIUM: Any level 60 character can get there, but you might need some consumes like Noggenfogger Elixir (or any other means of slowfall), a 100% mount or just trial and error when climbing some hills in the right place.

HARD: Those are guild houses located in hard to get to areas. On top of, or deep in the mountains with no direct access to them. This might require you being a specific class (mage can get everywhere), specific wall jumping skills, knowing the path (sometimes you have to start climbing in another zone), using consumes, certain items and all manner of tricks. Only for experienced explorers.

Feel free to msg me, preferably on Turtle WoW discord - username is Vall (vall4954). And enjoy the screenshots hidden behind spoiler tag!

Without further ado, let's go...

The Ultimate Guide to Turtle Wow Guild Bases.

<Thunder Ale Brewing Co>

Location: Arathi Highlands
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
We have to start with the big one. This is the guild base of Thunder Ale Brewing Co. One of the most recognizable and oldest guilds on the server. And it shows. The guildbase is probably the largest in whole Twow, including (a lot of) drinks merchants, a stable with rare mounts (go see Black Qiraji Battle Tank there), a section with guild achievements and much much more. If you're planning on visiting only one guild base in your travels, you should probably go there. (Don't do that tho, visit them all)

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Swim north from Thandol Span (Arathi Highlands), or swim south from Revantusk Village (Hinterlands).

Description:

On first sight this seems like a guild base for a long forgotten guild... But make no mistake, it is not. There are strange player characters there that stare at you with a dead gaze. Legend says if you whisper them the right words they will trade you their secrets, maybe even more. Who knows, probably only The Scourge.

How to get there:
Just run to the hills close to Western Plaguelands pass.

<Conquistadores>

Location: Tanaris

Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Far away on the south shores of Tanaris lies the base of Conquistadores. Long swim from the safe shores, but a worthy one. Bank, repair, a vendor, but most importantly a flying mount that lets you explore a lot around Tanaris. If you're hungry for exploration, definately a great location to go to.

Located in a beautiful spot in Desolace with a view over Gelkis and Shadowprey villages. There are three giant statues deddicated to the fallen, a graveyard (very fitting) and a church, plus a bonus disappearing Ghostly Caretaker. The views around and possible climbing spots are a great bonus.

Map:

How to get there:
Unexplored - there may be easier ways to get there. Involves wall jumping on some trees in Feralas and a hard climb on some hills in order to get on top of the mountains. Then follow the mountain peaks to the guildbase. May be limited to some classes.

<East Oceanic Trading Co>

Location: Tanaris
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
As it is fitting for the high seas masters, the guildbase is situated on a gold filled warship. A little off the beaten path, a short swim off the coast of Tanaris will get you there. Inside you'll find a gold filled bedroom, some traders, a blacksmith and... A jukebox to play all your favourite tunes. Well worth a visit.

<Blackwing Guard>

Location: Burning Steppes
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No

<Northshire Renegades>

Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: No

Description:
This little base may not seem like much at first, but the beautiful location and a flying mount is its biggest advantage. Just mount the griffon and enjoy the amazing scenery. Maybe you will even find some easter eggs if you look hard enough. It is also a great connection point if you want to get to Blackrock Mountain from Stormwind.

How to get there:
Fly using the griffin in Goldshire or walk through Burning Steppes' Blackwing Guard guild base.

<SQUAD>

Location: Feralas
Access: Hard
Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Hidden deep in the mountains of Feralas, that one is hard to get to. If you manage, be sure to visit the tower and say hi to the Sheep inside. The base has a griphon rider that lets you explore a lot of Feralas with a short flight.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
There is a very tough hill climb and some wall jumping involved. Start climbing from Feral Scar Vale in Feralas, then go around until you reach the rivear and a waterfall. After that you need to get on the other side and climb the big tree. There is a possibility you can also reach it by scaling the mountain chain in the West. May be limited to only some classes.

Edit: (Thank you to Silver Crusade and Taurkus) It is possible to make a jump to the other side of the river and then climb up using terrain. Slowfall still required, and the jumps are hard. But it's possible.

<Wolfskull Clan>

Location: Ashenvale
Access: Easy (Horde) / Medium (Alliance)
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
A unique location for this guild base makes it well worth a visit. Alliance beware tho, it is in the middle of a Horde outpost in Ashenvale. It is probably also a place with a lot of dark stuff happening.

Enter the caves inside Splintertree Post (Ashenvale).

<Murky Waters>

Location: Hillsbrad Foothills

Flying Mount: No

<Shmetterligsbrigade>

Location: Tanaris (out of map bounds)
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Located far outside the most frequented leveling path, this ship based guild base is a great detour when you have some free time on your hands. It has rich interiors, a trader and some great flavour npcs. If you ever find yourself in Tanaris, make a B-line and visit it.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Reach Land End's Beach in Tanaris, then swim south-west to the mountains visible on the horizon.

Screenshots:

Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image

<The Silver Crusade>

Location: Hillsbrad
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Short run from Tarren Mill or Southshore.

Screenshots:

Image Image Image Image Image Image

<The Lions Pride Legion>

Location: Duskwood
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Probably one of the most know guild bases for people familiar with the role playing scene. Located deep in Duskwood, between the Twilight Grove and Raven Hill this is a great place to hide from all the spiders in the woods. If you plan on visiting, be mindful of a certain abomination on your way there.

Follow the lanterns that break up from the road between Darkshire and Raven Hill.

Screenshots:

<Traveler>

Location: Feralas (On top of Twin Collosals)
Access: Hard
Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: Yes (broken?)

Description:
The unique location makes this guild base one of a kind. It's also a great place to chill, but watch out for the weather. Zeppelin on top, a very special view from above and a challenge to get there. Also, if you ever do manage, make sure you talk to all the vendors, might find some treasure there.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Easiest way is to use a flying mount from <Hard Chores> guildbase, if you can get there that is. You can also probably do it from <Squad>/<Farmers Market> guild bases using a flying mount, but it involves getting to high altitude and using slowfall to land in the right spot. Good aim and many tries definately required in that case. This is probably the hardest guildbase to get to on your own. Try at your own risk.

Screenshots:
Image Image
Image Image Image

<Hawk's Talon>

Location: Wetlands
Access: Medium
Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: No

Description:
A very cozy tavern on top of a seemingly unreachable hill. This is another fairly known and very useful guildbase. Flying mount lets you explore all the areas around with ease. Get to Ironforge Airfields? Done. Get to Grim Batol? Done. Just chill out and enjoy the place? Definately.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
For Alliance, you can fly to Ironforge Airfields, go to the northern edge and slowfall jump to the flat area in Wetlands, then run around. For Horde, run through North Gate Pass in Loch Modan, after you are on the other side, get to the highest peak around visible to your right. There will be some low level orc mobs there and a ram on top. Get on the top, use slowfall and jump on mount (may need 100%, not sure). Aim for the little V shape of grass you can see in the distance.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image

<Golden Moon>

Location: Barrens
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
As the guild base description says, it's a traveling circus. Pretty close to Ratchet so you can easily get there even if you're alliance. Includes a forge and an anvil, plus some merchants inside. Worth a visit since you can buy some mangoes from a monkey. What.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
It's just outside Ratchet, come on.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image

<Heirs of Quel'thalas>

Location: Loch Modan
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Seems like this guild house is no longer active for some time. It's still a nice and easy place to visit that has some unique elements. Flying flower pots everywhere.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Run from Thelsamar or Kargath (Badlands) for Horde.

Screenshots:
Image
Image Image Image Image

<Farmer's Market>

Location: Un'Goro Crater
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Very accessible guild base in a very nice spot. Especially that it includes a flying mount that lets you explore all the areas around with ease. And there's a lot to explore. Also, lots of fruit and a proper market. Plus a dive board into a moonwell.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Get to Marshal's Refuge and go West along the mountains, then climb up the hill to the gate. There's a crystal to guide you on your way up there. If noone picked it up that is.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image

<Rush And Attack>

Location: Darkshore (way in from Winterspring)
Access: Medium
Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: Yes (working)

Description:
Another very unique guild base. Make sure to say hi to the dancing trolls around, explore the beautiful surroundings and make sure to use the flying mount for additional awesome views. This one has a lot of great stuff around. Well worth a visit.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Start climbing the mountains near the enterance to Winterspring from Timbermaw Hold. Follow the mountains West, keeping close to the back of giant trees until you reach a tree bordering Felwood. Then be careful, follow the terrain up and enter the valleys. There are a couple of jumps there you need to do to avoid falling in terrain pits, but proceed North with the valley. After you reach a high cliff, slowfall and jump (don't miss the lake). Or just youtube a video on how to get to "troll village wow vannilla". Any character can get there, tho slowfall is highly advised.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image Image

<The Scarlet Crusade> (Assumed)

Location: Tirisfal Glades
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
This guild base is well hidden, far away from the usual leveling/exploration paths. Not even sure that is the guilds name to be honest. Tucked in the valley on the side of Scarlet Monastery it is still a nice and easy place to visit. Especially check out the inside of the church for a nice surprise.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Run from Tirisfal Glades, just East of Scarlet Monastery. Avoid the elites on the way and run into the valley.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image

<Thalassian Alliance>

Location: Stormwind
Access: Easy/Medium
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Located in Park District in Stormwind, this is a popular place for RP meetings from my knowledge. A great looking tavern. I couldn't check what they serve, but I was told they do have some unique stuff at the bar. If you're in SW take a stroll. Sadly I couldn't catch the full beauty in screenshots, since they apparently do not like cows there.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
For Alliance it's really easy, just walk there. For Horde you need to get to Stormwind first, then avoid the guards along the way. I suggest taking a flight from <Northshire Renegades> guild base and flying into Stormwind.

Screenshots:
Image Image

<Redwater Syndicate>

Location: Stormwind
Access: Easy/Medium
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Sadly this guildbase is most probably not what it used to be. The only signs that there ever was one there is one NPC and a plaque near the enterance with the guild name. Most people running by probably don't even know it's there.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
For Alliance it's really easy, just walk there. For Horde you need to get to Stormwind first, then avoid the guards along the way. I suggest taking a flight from <Northshire Renegades> guild base and flying into Stormwind.

<The Crusade> formerly <Argent Vanguard>

Location: Eastern Plaguelands
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Situated just off from the enterance to EPL from WPL lies the base of The Crusade. There aren't too many things around there left, but it is still a nice one to visit. If you've ever been to EPL you probably already found it.

Additional information from Gheor: "The Crusade" base was formerly the base of the Argent Vanguard. The Crusade were just allowed to use it later by the former GM of the AV. (https://discord.com/channels/4666224558 ... 8401090612)

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Turn south from the main road between WPL and EPL.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image

<Get Rich Or Die Grinding>

Location: Un'Goro Crater
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Located in the East side of Un'Goro Crater it's a very pretty and easy place to visit. Usual guild base amenities around, forge, merchants. Be sure to take a good look at the towering statues around.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Just run there from Marshal's Refuge.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image

<Macrochelys>

Location: Azshara
Access: Medium/Hard
Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: Yes (working)

Description:
At the top of the Forlorn Ridge lies the guildbase of Macrochelys. The views from the guildbase are amazing, you can also find a rather large turtle there. The flying mount lets you explore further, and if you're lucky even get to Orgrimmar. And remember, don't attack the turtles.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Use flying mount from <Emerald Dream> guild base (Medium). It is also possible to reach it by climbing from the East side of Forlorn Ridge, but the path is tough (Hard).

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image Image

<Rats>

Location: Thousand Needles
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Located near the raceway in Thousand Needles it's a really easy place to visit. Enjoy a bath in the pool, watch the races going on from nearby, visit the big cage around or just check out the Rat Boss in one of the houses.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Just race there. I mean run...

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image Image

<School of the Dragonhawk>

Location: Winterspring
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Deep in the caves beneath Winterspring's Starfall Village lies the base of School of Dragonhawk. The enterance is in the village, so you'll need to run through it. This is one of 2 guildbases located solely in caves. It's quite extensive and easy to get lost in, but worth exploring.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Get to Winterspring, run to Starfall Village and enter the caves there.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image

<Southfury Trading Co>

Location: The Barrens
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Situated close to the bridge between Durotar and Barrens this is a nice and easy place to visit. Check out the gyrocopter, say hi to the Ogre or just chill out on top of the tree house.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Just run from Ratchet or Orgrimmar.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image

<Templarios>

Location: Alterac Mountains
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
A lone tavern of Templarios stands alone by the river in Alterac Mountains. You can rent a horse, buy some drinks and chill on your adventures, tho be careful of the iron maiden inside.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Run along the river from Hillsbrad Foothills North to Alterac Mountains.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image Image

<Ered Ruin>

Location: Ashenvale
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
Located in Demon Fall Canyon this one looks like it has a lot to do with the Fel. Some really nice details, 3 scarry trees and a succubus. Make sure to explore the cool areas around too while you're there, there are a few worthwile in the canyon.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Run to Felfire Hill, then into Demon Fall Canyon and follow it to the end.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image

<Blacktooth Grin>

Location: Swamp of Sorrows
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
This one sadly seems to be mostly empty by now. There is however a bank mule there if you need to grab some stuff without flying back to a major city or Booty Bay.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
It's just outside Stonard in Swamp of Sorrows.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image

<Warsong Outriders>

Location: The Barrens
Access: Easy
Flying Mount: No
Innkeeper: No

Description:
On the border of The Barrens and Ashenvale, close to Warsong Gulch enterance lies Spear Tip Inn, guildbase of Warsong Outriders. You can find the usual amenities there, mailbox, repair, a food vendor, forge... But also, make sure to visit the inside of the tavern, grab a festive mug and fill it with brew. Then sit back and listen to the music box nearby. The base is quite scattered, so make sure to explore around to find all the details.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
Run from Crossroads, Ratchet or Splintertree Post.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image

<Thunderhorn Clan>

Location: Thousand Needles (on top of one of the pillars)
Access: Hard
Flying Mount: Yes
Innkeeper: No

Description:
A very picturesque place for a guildbase and awesome views from above on Thousand Needles valleys. Sadly also very hard to get to. If you manage, enjoy the big peace pipe, blow the enormous horn or just use the flying mount to explore things around it. Oh, and don't fall down.

Map:
Image

How to get there:
This one is a doozy. First of all you will need 4 mount speed items (2 trinkets, gloves and boots) and a epic riding skill to make the jump. Then you need to find a way to climb the South-Western mountains in The Barrens. Once you're up, follow the tops of the mountains around Razorfen Kraul, stick to Thousand Needles side. Reach a place with a couple of peaks from where you can see the guildbase on the pillar. Equip all your mountspeed items, use slowfall and make the jump. It's a hard one, might take a few tries and finding the right jump spot, but you can make it.

Screenshots:
Image Image Image Image Image Image

That's all folks! Visiting all of them has been quite an adventure and I'd strongly suggest trying yourselves.
If you find any mistakes feel free to point them out, or if you know about any more guild bases that can be confirmed let me know.

This list is made as a tribute to all the awesome Devs that created those guildbases: Gheor, Coun and eveyone else I don't know about yet.

You can make it to traveler's guild base from Squad's with slowfall but you have to manage to keep your momentum after falling off the mount which is a bit tricky to pull off.

also while their guild base does have an innkeeper it is currently not functioning so you won't actually get to hearth there after talking to the innkeeper.

That's actually the way I got there first time, before finding Hard Chores.

I think all guildbases Innkeepers only work for members of that guild. I tried with Traveler and it didn't work. But Traveler guildies confirmed it works for them.

This might be true with Traveler but I can confirm this isn't true with every guild base.

I made a round. <Rush and Attack> and <Macrochelys> innkeepers seem to work, <Traveler> doesn't.

Thanks for the guide! I have found that when it comes to academic help, it is very important to choose a reliable service. Personally, I have had a great experience with MasterPapers https://www.masterpapers.com/ Their writers are top notch and they have helped me out of many assignment difficulties. Plus, their prices are reasonable, which is always a bonus for us budget-conscious students. If anyone is looking for a reliable writing service, I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Blacktooth Grin's base is empty of NPCs due to devs placing those npcs different than all other bases.

Each major update all npcs (minus bank) get auto removed. Created a problem where manual placement was needed by a gm each major update. As you might imagine custom placing everything each time led to changes and losses over time.

They stopped supporting last content update, hence guild base is mostly empty...
