Most of those gear pieces with halved ARP will be downright worthless or inferior to similar options from easier content.
If you're going ballistic on ARP then you gotta rebalance the gear by adding different offensive stats to compensate.

In order for armor pen to overcome diminishing returns in the opposite direction, you pretty much already had to stack it. While there will now be half as much armor pen, the armor curve suggests overall armor pen is worth less than half its original value.

Good thing nobody already stacked armor pen, eh?

Why not just have armor pen be a %based thing? Like crit% or hit%? It would maybe solve some issues with the constant nerfing of it

Can we reobtain t0.5 item if we already did those quests and got rid of some of them?

Does paladin's Blade of Eternal Justice also have increased Spell power like on other caster weapons?
For example like mage's blade 40 SP -> 56 SP

so basically 100 armorpen are not 100 armorpen but 20? same after the change 50 -> 20 due to 0.4 factor. this makes armorpen pretty useless scared_turtle

Wait Wait Wait.. I have an Alt-Character with the Steel Plate Set on lvl 47 right now.. does this mean, when this change drops (and I'm not lvl 50 at that point), that my char will stand there without any equipment?.. or am I mixing up item level and required level? (iLvL is something i'm not used to) '-'

  • Hunter:
    • Scythe of the Unseen Path: Reduced Agility from 16 to 14. Reduced Stamina from 9 to 6. Replaced 3 MP5 with 1% Physical Critical Chance.
    • Signet of the Unseen Path: Reduced Agility from 19 to 17. Increased Stamina from 11 to 12. Removed Intellect. Added 1% Physical Hit Chance.
While the weapon change is very nice, with the ring you just gave another Master Dragonslayer's ring to hunters(They need the intellect). Could it be possible to leave the ring unchanged and rework the set bonus? There is already 1% hit on the cloak and 3% pet damage is one of the weakest set bonus. Then this set would be a nice addition to any tier hunter armor.

Can we reobtain t0.5 item if we already did those quests and got rid of some of them?
That would be nice if the NPC can restore them once all quests are done or if the system claims you have done it

So basically as an Elf Prot Paladin I have to tell my Warrior & Rogue guildies that somehow Maladath is better single target TPS for me than Lok'amir...

I love the change guys, but it creates so much friction between classes & races that it's straight up disheartening.

those aq20 weapons seems kinda overbuffed, being as good if not better than bwl-aq40 weapons. i do think they need a buff, but not THAT much

Wait Wait Wait.. I have an Alt-Character with the Steel Plate Set on lvl 47 right now.. does this mean, when this change drops (and I'm not lvl 50 at that point), that my char will stand there without any equipment?.. or am I mixing up item level and required level? (iLvL is something i'm not used to) '-'
Required level will not be affected.

Yea, you probably don't want to over tune these such that they are better than AQ40 difficult to get options since you get so much CC rep when farming AQ40 (so you get them for essentially free). However, I think its fine if they are better than BWL options, or the easier to get AQ40 options. In order to be exhalted with CC you are either already in AQ40 quite a bit (meaning you probably have BWL on farm), or you have spent very large amounts of time farming CC rep, and/or running AQ20.

Making all raid gear a linear step above the solo obtainable gear only encourages a "raid-log" only environment which is one of the things (among many) that killed later retail expansions IMO.

You need to leave it such that progression through early raids is still necessary for filling in SOME slots, so that those raids are not irrelevant, but also leave it such that those that can invest time and research into finding obscure or difficult solo/grind obtainable items might still have a slight advantage over the simple raid-logger in the various tiers of progression.

Having a very few rare dungeon drops, or arduous grind items BIS even into naxx is healthy for the game IMO.

Hard agree. If you gonna replace every item in the next raid tier we are not far from retail itemization where every item has a generic name thats basically just a flat ilvl. You cant name a single item in current wow bcs you dont care, higher ilvl=upgrade. The flavour in vanilla is that you still run MC for stuff like onslaught, quickstrike, talisman etc bcs they are only replaced in naxx. Same with bwl trinkets that are bis whole game.

I know this isn't a big thing, but wonder if a version of the original t2.5 for druids could come back with all the tier changes as an option?

why?
Warlock:
Kris of Unspoken Names: Spellpower increased from 59 to 71. Added 1% Spell Hit Chance.
Mage:
Blade of Vaulted Secrets: Increased Spellpower from 40 to 56.

???

Both Spellpower increased should be changed to 71 to be fair.

I did some research regarding spell power amount on caster weapons in dependans of item level.
There are list of epic one-handed weapons with item level > 67 from wowhead classic.
Link: https://www.wowhead.com/classic/items/w ... ems;0-2+20
Each item level more than 60 increases SP about 4 per lvl , e.g.
70 item lvl = 10*4= 40 SP
78 item lvl = 18*4 = 72 SP
81 item lvl = 21*4 = 84 SP
83 item lvl = 23*4= 96 SP
Usually weapons from list have that amount of SP

Regarding our weapons from AQ20:
74 item lvl caster weapon should has about 14*4=56 SP
For Mage all is Ok
For Paladin and Druid need increase to 56 SP
For Warlock 71 SP is near 78 item lvl weapon
For Shaman 68 SP is 77 item lvl weapon - that lvl weapons drops from AQ40 / BWL or from R14

One additional remark: on turtle wow AQ20 weapons are simple one-hunded, on classic wow they are unique one-handed.
I saw few rogues that wear 2 daggers of Veiled Shadows in same time.

Necessary to add level 60 requirement to t0.5 set? These sets were the best option for twinking a level 59. Perhaps an additional quest to turn your t0.5 into improved t0.5? or just dont worry about requiring level 60 at all? These upgrades aren't going to break the game in favor of a level 59 being OP nor are they really going to make them that much more attractive to a level 60 who can join a MC pug with ease. The goal should be unlocking more ways to play the game not removing options for ways to play the game.

On a similar note, the quest to turn in ZG idols is level 58 but the reward requires 60 to apply. Perhaps change the reward to level 58 to match the quest?
Astrld — 60 Nightelf Rogue
Nachichi — 60 Nightelf Priest
Snapcaster — 60 Gnome Mage
Tazri — 60 Human Warrior
Rafiq — 59 Human Paladin

Would you consider lowering the attack speed of one-handed fAP weapons like the AQ20 hammer and End of Dreams to 1.50-1.70?
You chose to give fAP to moonkins as well so it’d be nice to be able to melee-weave with some of them!<3

Most likely an oversight by VMaNGoS itself as we haven't touched most AQ20 set weapons before this, I'll add the unique flag to them with this patch.

An oversight with the spellpower DPS sacrifice calculation, going to replace spell hit with extra stamina for warlock kris to keep it equal as the mage blade has 1% spell hit to take the place of the extra spellpower.
