Seems like I'm the first to vote! Medieval/fantasy music mostly, not too epic when I'm killing boards or normal critters. Something that fits the place I'm in, like 90's rock for westfall.

I usually listen to various Jeremy Soule mixes. I fell in love with his soundscapes as a teenage Guild Wars player and his catalogue nowadays is so huge you can listen to his music for several play sessions without repeating tracks.

Obviously the Guild Wars OST is a personal favourite for nostalgia reasons.

If I'm playing a gnome, I listen to the Crash Bandicoot: Warped soundtrack.

  • Johnny Cash - Unchained, At Folsom Prison, Gospel Glory and the motion picture album
  • The Offspring - Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace
  • Awesome Mix Tapes - Volume 1,2,3,4,9
  • Orchastrated and individual soundtracks from Bleach
  • Nordy Folky - What tomorrow brings?
  • Lana del Ray - Dark Paradise
  • House M.D. song compliations for season
(Not sure if rerunning the vote is neccessairy since still open I guess but yeah no why)
  • Few individual songs for like when you "just leave it on repepat" or when you are having a "why not make a playlist" day
Iggy Pop - Passenger, Billy Ocean - Love really hurts, L.M.F.A.O. - I'm sexy and I know it, That arabian night song and the one with the world's smallest violin, Shinedown - 45, Pendulum - Witchcraft, Guren no Yumiya, VlDl - Chasing the swarm, Prophecy cat part_2 (It turned out a very disturbing playist ssooooo)
  • Rohan melody suite
To-do-list:
  • A novel I'm planning 50 pages long with a dark iron related dwarven spy in the trogg and leper infested gnomish capital. Hopefully aligning still with the turte-lore stuff. Think will do but time passes in the meanwhile and I might have to curve my story like a good Karen would do. Depends on whether they let me retake gnomer in the book or they wanna do it themselves. Although that might just be a great sequence to work on...
  • Starting to talk with others instead of myself from one second ago
  • Finding up-to-date, recent-time music repertoire to browse from (there I seek aid from readers and dwellers of this community.) Please join the thread!

The idea is that we help the radio stations by gathering a bunch of warcraft related music. I believe we may bring in all kinds of blizzard related content. I see the possibility to introduce music from less popular fantasy worlds and artists as well.

List your favourite tracks and their expansion number. W1, W2, W3, TFT and other details from outside scource!

This code allows you to import from youtube if you feel clickity:

Usually just turning on the radio.
But music I'd love in the in-game radio if copyright allows it:
* Good old rock (Queen, ACDC, Creedence Clearwater etc)
* Some rap (Tupac, BIG, Eminem)
* Some exotic stuff (French operette, Noir Désir, Al Bano - Felicitá, Die Toten Hosen)
* A bit of Avenged Sevenfold
* Bob Marley
* Mongolian throat singing
* Zámbó Jimmy

I think can add a medieval fantasy song type category which includes
  • Lotr
  • Warcraft
  • Witcher
  • Diablo
  • Bard music
  • Lineage
  • Guild Wars
  • Ori and the Blind Forest / Will if the Wisps
  • Jeremy Soul
And i like to add to the list Skyrim. Divinity Original Sin 2, Lost Ark, Thomas Bergensen / 2 Stepps from Hell, Journey (2012) Heroes of Might and Magic 3,4,5 (Town and ambient pieces)

Journey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3hFN8UrBPw

There are many less famous but incredibly good work out there also like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHA_4wfQhE8

Einaudi was a nice touch; Ylvis would be funny, and who can't forget fantastic anime tracks like in Ponyo and Totoro for example, but seriously, imagine bopping to this in-game:

It's an even better song to wake people up at 03.00 in the morning with :DDDDDDDD

For me, the best tracks that I personally listen to while playing the game, a whole variety of genres (in a variety of different languages), are:

Poju - Katseet Kenttään (Aurium Remix), or any Poju song (the band is so underrated)
KUUMAA - Ylivoimainen
VIIVI feat. JVG - Mitä näil korteil saa? (although any VIIVI song is good)
Juha Tapio - Sinun vuorosi loistaa
Practically the whole Random Access Memories album (Daft Punk)
Johnny Lloyd - Only Human (not well-known, but still great)
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars
INXS - Never Tear Us Apart
U2 - Beautiful Day
Coldplay - A Sky Full of Stars
Olafur Arnalds - Verses
BTS - DNA

If you want weird:

Any PSY song (it doesn't end at Gangnym Style)
Englewood - Crystal Dolphin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyOqGRjVtls
... and if you really wanted, only on Fridays, Beck Martin - Friday Night (best vocals ever; if you were wondering about the credibility of X Factor judges, just know that this guy won a round)

Any Ghibli soundtrack as well (Ponyo and Totoro, as mentioned above, are my favourites, but Ghibli were fantastic with every one they made)

For classical music (and if Einaudi counts as classical, some people say not, some people do):

Ludovico Einaudi - Experience
Ludovico Einaudi - Nuvole Bianche
Claude Debussy - Claire de Lune
Erik Satie - Gymnopédies
Ludwig van Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake

Claire de Lune would be nice and it is probably not a copyright issue. However copyright I think is not an issue. The issue is that the raido stream remain personal, cozy and original.

There are many things that a broadcast station must take into consideration. We are scattered all around the world and finding the right time for the right music require a lot of investigating. You need to know which time what country is presently during raid times or levelling, grinding phases to best please the appetite of their musical hunger. Alas, that is but only one aspect of their work and but only a few songs in particular out of the many more that fill up the rest of the channel's daily playtime!

If we manage to gather a list of tracks that they can browse from then they will have an easier time setting up an entertaining show.

It is useful to link composers and albums of large variety a repertoire since if they find the free time for it then they may make the playlist themselves. However what would prove to be the most useful is to collect individual musical pieces, songs and soundtracks. Preferably from ancient times or the most modern that which has not yet seen the surface.

However the main aim shall be to gather the relevant Warcraft music from the earlier games and conjure a preferance list - a collection of the track titles in order of preference of the realm or the forum's collective userbase - since as far as I know the radio doesn't stream from old content and it would help them.

Even if you don't know all the original tracks by heart - like myself either, only a few - but decided to start browsing through them on a hinge. Stop occasionally and say "Hey, this one ain't bad!" and post them in a list, it would help the cause!

I like Nordic/Celtic music among various other music from different cultures. My current list is: I also like Hardstyle (TNT, Trapz, DBSTF, etc.) and Game/Anime OSTs (Pokemon Red Rescue, Tikimon's OST from twinsanity, Pokemon HG/SS/Emerald)

I have these artists on shuffle as I play WoW satisfied_turtle_head

Always dandy to talk about music. I used to listen to almost exclusively rock, emo, punk and other stuff like The Offspring, The Cranberries, Metallica, A7X, Iron Maiden, etc. but now I've also become obsessed with folk music and fantasy stuff, like the OST for AC4 and DA:I. Historical and religious music too.
Before:

Now:

Jazdeau - High Elf Priest - 60 - <Get Rich or Die Grinding>
Jazimar - High Elf Paladin - 60 - War Mode <Conquistadors>
Yhormie - Goblin Mage - 21 - War Mode
+ 7 other alts

There is a collection of songs of a relatively recent repertoire in the Youtube repository that I found to my liking over the summer. You can find it if you search for My playlist for writing because I have enough of classic sheet. It's a little lovenly but it keeps u in check.
