Online Quest & Item Creator
Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
The blasted lands is a high level zone, a 42 elite would be too weak. I suggest making it level 54 or up, with the reward being increased in level to match that. The quest could also give a caster staff and agility dagger so that more people go to Blasted Lands to do it.

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
Here are some items to balance the one above. They are intended to encourage exploration and so are not breadcrumbed.
For a dagger, this can be added as a lootable to a corpse on the east side of Swamp of Sorrows named Dungree <Crocolisk Hunter>:
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... JOVUxMIl0=
And for a caster item there is a staff that can be looted from a pile of dirt behind the tent at Aridans Camp in Deadwind Pass:
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... wiTlVMTCJd
Just a bit of fun to help with the 40-50 grind.

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
Stumbled upon that weird little goblin camp just west of the Wailing Caverns again as I do every few characters and thought "you know what, these guys need a reason to be out here!" so I opened the quest editor and took my first crack at designing a quest and its subsequent rewards.
It's the first time I've ever used the editors and while they're really helpful in their descriptors of what everything does I still wanted to post this stuff with the warning that I might have missed something important. The quest itself is to acquire the hides of giraffes and zhevras in exchange for some very fashionable boots or a cloak since I always found these two very unique mobs to be under-utilized in the zone and also conveniently tied together thematically via the world of fashion!
The only thing I couldn't really figure out was how to link the required hides to be dropped/skinned (preferably both) from the requisite mobs themselves while the quest is active. If there's a way to do that, I'd love to know! If not, the intended targets should be pretty obvious! If everything here looks good, I also have a planned follow-up to offer some late-teens weapons that would add some fun characterization to an otherwise wordless npc!

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
That's a very nice idea on these goblins you have there. Alas, some small mistakes and grammar edits required for your quest, all you need for your items to have is correct type, sell price (quarter of buy price) and amount of armor it should provide if any … otherwise it's a great idea and I fully support your first steps on this path. Well done! Keep it going and make sure to ask either Dragunovi or Gheor in discord for any advice or hints.Derikom wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 6:10 amStumbled upon that weird little goblin camp just west of the Wailing Caverns again as I do every few characters and thought "you know what, these guys need a reason to be out here!" so I opened the quest editor and took my first crack at designing a quest and its subsequent rewards.

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
Made a little something that may lead to more or maybe not. The base idea is for a somewhat unusual satyr to offer the player character an unusual exchange (of words and gear alike) and to do a bit of world building on the process.
The quest rewards are meant to be polarizing, hugely boosting one aspect of a character and in turn strongly weakening other attributes - Making the items double-edged swords with a risk vs reward factor. If the idea takes off, I might add few more low and high level versions with appropriate stats to populate and diversify the item pool a little.
The quest ( https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/questcrea ... F4IjoxMH1d )
The quest NPC in question ( https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/npccreato ... wxOCwiIl0= ) is supposed to be friendly/neutral and interactable (with shop if possible), but also attackable for higher level players to get rare rewards. So doubling as a special mob of sorts. Located anywhere in Desolace or Felwood, where it makes more sense for the Satyr to appear.
The challenge from the quest is to move from the quest NPC's origin to the Gadgetzan goblin trader selling the quest item and back in a timely fashion without dying. I set a timer of 30 minutes and the condition for failure on death, but the time may be further adjusted downward to increase challenge.
The Quest Item ( https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... wiTlVMTCJd ) should be sold in Tanaris, Gadgetzan, by any already established NPC. 51.00, 27.50.
Upon completion the player can choose between ( https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... JOVUxMIl0= ) and ( https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... wiTlVMTCJd ) (not sure if it works, but the first equip effect of "The Voidstone of Sinister Tribunals" is meant to periodically hurt the player character who has the item equipped, not enemies).

Vanilla was meant to have the Legendary Ashbringer weapon in game. The Devs trolled players with Nat Pagle's book by getting players to find it by fishing so to honour that trolling here is a 1 handed weapon with ridiculous low drop chance by fishing in max level zones befitting to pay tribute to the drunk fisherman Nat Pagle & to have a chance at a legendary from Fishing!

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
I have created the following submission to explore some of the Gnoll story line and lore. This initial plot picks up from the beloved Hogger in Elwynn Forest.
The quest starts with an Unusual emblem drop (100%) from Hogger. This item takes the player into an exploration to discover its origins and why the notable foe was holding up to this in the first place.
The plot explores an interesting Easter Egg from the first Human campaign mission from Warcraft 3 , mentioning a character from an optional objective in this area of the game where the Player had to rescue a child from Gnolls.
It sets up a potential backstage influence from the gnolls in Alterac Mountains (from back in Warcraft 3) and how some of them potentially migrated to Elwynn.
The player starts off with the Unusual Emblem quest and progresses to investigate in the follow-up quest Unusual Findings. Finally, the final chapter of this short series is completed in Unusual Motives.
The whole quest happens in Elwnn and Stormwind. It also allows further story development to be built in the end of the final quest in the chain.

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
I attempted to create a short quest, together with the NPC that gives said quest and quest item! I thought this would be a fun little quest that in due time, could expand upon the questgiver and that he could deliver out more quests like this with greater rewards, all while it's friendly with the lore if it is of interest.
It starts with the quest being available at level 10 for any races within the Alliance. He is a High Elf mage, and is found wandering within Stormwind city along the canals. The first quest he gives is this:
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/questcrea ... F4IjoxMH1d
Upon accepting the quest, you are given the item Thordas' Book of Magic, which is in your inventory until you deliver it.
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... wiTlVMTCJd
I've yet to fill in some blanks within the quest/quest item creator I think (first time I've ever used them, so I'm a bit unsure on how they work.) but I'd absolutely love to expand upon this if it's something that seems interesting.
My discord is: Lilleanon#8357

I made the quest reward fairly enticing to promote grouping up with Paladins so they don't have to solo it later or miss out on it. I found an unused NPC in Stormwind and decided to give him a bit of a story. Christoph Faral in the Old Town pub has been drinking away his sorrow for years. Go and have a chat with Christoph in the pub to receive a quest asking for revenge, [The Southshore Merchant's Misery].
He will send you into Shadowfang Keep, preferably with a Paladin on their class quest, to kill Razorclaw the Butcher as well as Fel Steed. A tad too much text, nobody is gonna read through all that wall of text, I'd recommend you'd make it shorter.
Also I don't know where you got the idea Satyr are Alien beings.
The Satyr are simply deformed Highborne elves.
To put it simply Satyr is the result of the Legion's influence, as Naga is the result of Old God influence.

First of all: Too much text.
Second of all: "after I arrived in Stormwind after the fall of my beloved home, the kingdom of Quel'thalas." doesn't sound too good.
Needs a grammar and spelling check, I am not a native either so I feel you there.
*Thordas let out a brief sigh, reminiscing of the old days. He remains silent for a moment before he glances at you, his eyes beaming up.* - Slightly unnecessary, but I love flavour. You could've actually placed it somewhere else in the text.
Shouldn't the quest ender be Elsharin herself?
His behaviour isn't high elvish at all, if anything he acts like a reckless gnome.
Give it another try, I'd love to see what you can come up with if given criticism.

Imperial Qiraji Armaments: adding a fist weapon
This is a suggestion to add a fist weapon to the weapon rewards of the imperial Qiraji armaments quest. If you look at the weapons that were available in vanilla, fist-weapons are possibly the most neglected weapon type. Basically the only good one-handed and off-hand fist weapons available in game are either Rank 14 rewards, or the off-hand that is dropped from Sapphiron in Naxxaramas. All the other one handed and off-hand fist weapons available in game are Zg-tier or less (45 dps going down ).
With that being said, other weapon types get significant upgrades that are easily accessible to players. Mainly weapons that are deemed as good as r14 weapons, maybe slightly better but still not as good as naxx weapons. So I made sure to create a fist weapon that is as good as the other armaments quest rewards and a slightly worse weapon speed compared to the rank 14 fist weapon (2.7 vs 2.9). In terms of how good it is, it falls right between naxx tier weapons and BWL weapons, and it's a one-hander (both fist weapons available in BWL and AQ40 are main handers).
As for the weapon model this one is not yet used : https://classic.wowhead.com/item=20005/ ... aws#guides
Aaaand This is the link to the item I am suggesting

So I've been working on making some items I plan on adding to the profession tree's to be crafted, help add a bit of variety to the list. Right now I'm posting some sample staves I want to be added to the Enchanting Profession.
These first examples are simple ones that while I'd want to be learned from a trainer, I also have plans for a quest giver to sell them after finishing a quest if the previous option isn't possible.

Then here is a stave recipe that'll be sold in limited supply by a vendor (perhaps the same one who sells the others should that prove to be the main method)
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... 5VTEwiXQ==
This staff is 1 of two of my more ambitious staves, while limited in what I could use, the actual effect of the staff that I was thinking of goes as follows. "On Use: Create a Shield that absorbs 300 Damage and drains 2 mana per damage absorbed this way. While the Shield is active you gain 20 to all your resistances and have a 3% chance to reflect hostile spells back at the caster." The acquisition of the recipe for this staff currently between a long quest chain and or a random drop from high level dungeon bosses though I'm leaning towards the former more than the latter.
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... 5VTEwiXQ==
Finally, this staff is again a result of limited options, though it's a bit simpler. The intended effect is to have an Aura that increases all nearby party members Spirit by 15. I definitely plan on this one's recipe being a quest reward, though more likely a short chain of 2 or 3 quests with low travel time.
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... wiTlVMTCJd
I do plan on there being a little bit more, and I definitely want to make more for other professions, but I wanted to get a gauge on what I could and could not make. Hopefully I'm on the right track.
These first examples are simple ones that while I'd want to be learned from a trainer, I also have plans for a quest giver to sell them after finishing a quest if the previous option isn't possible.

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
I have a question about this wonderful system you have created.
How detailed can you make theses quests?
Can you make stuff like scripted events? Like mobs teleporting in, doing monologues and emote/casting animations, switching gear and weapons, changing models, going from a friendly NPC to a Hostile one and perhaps the other way around (Sorta like the interrogation quests in The Missing Diplomat questline).
And what about escort quests?
Thanks in advance! :)

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
Hello there !
I created a few items mainly with the idea of adding lore flavor to the game.
Note that the stats like before aren't really my thing, and I was shooting more for the "immersion". This means that the items need some adjustments.
I was aiming for this necklace to drop in the Alterac Mountains.
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... 5VTEwiXQ==
Made this ring as a drop in Dire Maul.
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... JOVUxMIl0=
And last but not least, these boots. Could be a drop in Lower Blackrock Spire perhaps.
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... 5VTEwiXQ==
Once again, these items could be adjusted and used for whatever level, place and zone you'd like. I just wanted to add some items that could make the world feel more persistent and believable.

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
My goals & intentions for these quests:
"You want to know why I care for these roaches?"
[The Roach Tenders Tragedy](https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/questcrea ... F4IjoxMH1d) Another quest for everyone's favorite Roachman.
________________________________________________________________________________________
(The spoiler text is intended to be gossip dialogue you click through as the goal of this first quest. I couldn't figure out how to make that happen though. I do not want it to be scripted dialogue you have to sit through like with the Alah'Thalas introduction quest in Stormwind, if a player wants to skip through it asap, they should be able to.
I understand that the text might be a little dark for Turtle-WoW's aesthetics, I tried really hard to keep this idea within the tone of Warcraft and in line with Scholomance. I also understand that this is a lot of text, please believe me when I say this is the heavily cut down & censored version of the concept.)
We do not get much characterization out of Jeremiah, but in the few times he's referenced we get the sense that he's looked down upon even in The Undercity, by other Undead, and he still cares when we mention to him his dead sister, threatening a "boot in our posteriors." if our intent is to disrespect his family.
How far does death's empathy extend? Is he actually just as vengeful, self serving & hate-bound as other Undead we meet? What is the Undead's relationship with other discarded, looked down upon things like themselves? What was life like for a mindless ghoul before they were free? Why did Arthas let his favorite Steed rot in the ground while he frolicked about Northrend? These 2 little quests attempt to address some of these questions, while letting others linger.

Cerberus:https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/npccreato ... A0LCIiXQ==
[Slaying Cerberus](https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/questcrea ... giOjEwfV0=)
I am in no way, shape, or form a programmer, or skilled in maths. This NPC is almost certainly unbalanced & incomplete. I tried my best to just recreate Hogger, with a little undead twist.
The Bones:https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... wiTlVMTCJd
(Bones dropped by Cerberus as apart of the quest.)

The Rewards:
(Again, disclaimer; My maths are big bad. These items may not be properly tuned.)
Choice 1:
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... JOVUxMIl0=
Choice 2:
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... JOVUxMIl0=
Choice 3:
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... JOVUxMIl0=
(Helmets? With stats? At level 10? Insanity, I know.)
Let me tell you, that words cannot describe the happiness I felt when I made my Helf paladin, and I finished their rudimentary starting zone, and I was rewarded with a rose to wear in my hair. This has been the highlight of my time playing on this server so far, and then imagine my shock when I was awarded with ANOTHER helm in Elwynn Forest.
Perhaps this is a slippery slope? But if we can have aesthetic helmets at level 5, why not have low level statted helmets scattered about? They already sort of exist with the engineering goggles, but why should they get all the low level helmet fun? I feel like these helmets aren't particularly strong, maybe equally as strong as the engineering goggles, some stam, some main stat, lil bit of shadow res seasoning for the flavor.
I will concede however, these helmets all purely exist due to the fact that I came up with the mail one & it's flavor text first, I just have to have it, clearly I couldn't show my bias though, and made helms for the other armor types. If being common quality would get these into the game, I would be happy.
No Choice:
https://dev.turtle-wow.org/#!/itemcreat ... JOVUxMIl0=
(Fleshcrafting: For Fools, is clearly a very powerful item. It casts rank 2 Drain Life, 10 levels before even warlocks themselves get it. I intended for this item to have a 20 minute cooldown or so, and I know cooldowns are not necessarily the way to balance an item, but in this case I do sincerely believe that this book is merely a strong flavorful tool to draw players in & be used to ease the leveling experience in a few tight spots for some classes. Warriors & Rogues come to mind. If it's better balanced without the shadow resist, or as rank 1, or with an entirely different use, then so be it.
The secondary intent is to undercut the dark tone of the quests with a little bit of humor. Jeremiah spends a long time trying to unlock the secrets of this black text, when it's really just a Necromancy for Dummies book that highlights Scourge incompetency. I feel this sort of humor is in line with Blizzards own.)
_________________________________________________________________________________________
In closing, I have been working on this for the worst part of the day.
It is 3am, English is my first language, I apologize for any grammatical mistakes, misplaced apostrophe's, incomplete NPC's or any other inconvenience or otherwise annoyance.
I sincerely appreciate & respect your consideration. I understand if my incompetence, or otherwise lack of Development resources, or a contradiction in developer goals means that this little quest chain cannot exist. The process of creation was fun & fulfilling, and I thank you Turtle WoW team for the opportunity.
-Executrix Sorrowgrave/Justiciar Greydawn.
(PS: The chest piece, with the Purple Tabard that the Death Guards wear, is there any way this can be implemented into the game as an equippable item? If this were added to the donation shop under the tabards section, I would certainly be compelled to get one.)
- Undead players are given a quest about half way through TIrisfal Glades to speak with Belthor Iceshard in the Undercity, a similar quest in Goldshire introduces the Player to a few more quests they can do inside Stormwind, i.e; delivering wine, or linen, etc. This quest gives new forsaken players something to discover & do in the buried necropolis, while dumping a little dark forsaken exposition that otherwise isn't really explored until they do the Scholomance quest chain 45 levels later. The quest should fit well into the flow of the Forsaken questing experience, being done alongside Rear Guard Patrol, from Death Guard Leanna.
- Tirisfal is, pardon the pun, a bit of a dead zone? I'm new to the server, I understand Alliance seems to be the majority population as with most rp/pve servers. Compared to the experience I had leveling a Helf Paladin in Elwynn, well the contrast is a little stark. I want to add a bit of grandeur to Tirisfal, something which draws players in & is exciting. The Undead's very own Hogger, calling in players from across the world to aid in the beasts demise. Such a creature demands a worthy reward.
- Again I will say, the truly demented parts of the Scourge's & Forsaken's stories aren't touched upon very much, off the top of my head, The Scholomance dungeon & it's associated quests are really the only example I can think of from Vanilla. I feel these dark moments are good for the Forsaken story as it really rubs it in your face to remind you, these zombies, who are plaguing people & experimenting on people, do have a very awful, tragic backstory, and adds depth to them that isn't just "Ooh woo whacky zambie scientist man make silly goop slimes." or edgy "I feel nothing. Existence is sorrow. Sometimes I wonder how my family is doing, then I wonder why I no longer care." emospeech.
The Scourge are interesting when they're ripping out their hearts, trying to destroy the last remnants of their humanity, unable to escape the basic failings of their mortality. Arrogance, Pride, Wrath, Sloth. Even Arthas, after everything he did, still held onto Jaina's Locket, and still went back for Invincible, non canon as it may be to Turtle-WoW, the characterization is the characterization.
The Forsaken are interesting when they're doing everything they can to hold on to what remains of their humanity, against the gnawing curse of their undeath, every instinct telling them to blight the land, every moment the Helm of Domination is attempting to reassert itself. When the Will of the Forsaken overcomes their depression.
So, I wanted to explore Jeremiah Payson's relationship with his roaches. I feel like it maybe a little on the nose, but this is still Warcraft.
- With Undead Hunters presumably coming to the game with Undead pets, Cerberus would certainly be a must-have for any Beast Master's collection, again drawing players to the area, encouraging RP.
- The Balnir Farmstead, being the Grave of Invincible, is a pretty under-utilized part of the Tirisfal map. Death Guard Leanna sends you here to grind mobs, Forsaken mages come here to pick flowers, and there's a rare spawn here, who can be a real pita. This new quest makes doing these others a little more worth while, encouraging grouping to slay the undead.
Why did Arthas leave his favorite pet rotting in the ground, forgotten? He didn't, he left a guard dog to ensure no novice acolytes would turn his beloved invincible into the steed of some pissant. He fully intended on coming back(which he did in WoTLK,)with UC as his capital. He didn't know he would become bound to the Throne when he left.
"You want to know why I care for these roaches?"

Benny Blaanco at the Furlbrow farm was always kinda just there, so I wrote a quest to kill him and bring his head to Captain Danuvin at Sentinel Hill. All it would require is adding a wanted poster somewhere in Sentinel Hill, either at the tower or next to the inn.

Re: Online Quest & Item Creator
I am trying to figure out the quest creator. I have a quest giver (NPC). I would like the quest to end at an object (tracks on the ground). I only see CreatureTemplateID as an option for quest end though. Is that a hard limit to the creator or am I missing something?

Another quick flavor/lore item I made. Needs adjusting methinks.
Could maybe drop in Demon Fall Canyon, or perhaps Blackfathom deeps ?
