It is a sad but common way for HCs to die, and the rules explicitly state there will be no restores for connection issues. If you play HC, that risk is yours to take.

This server seems to have an abundance of the Warrior class, but on various chats you keep hearing the "need tank and heal for..."
If you're looking to fill a shortage, I'd go with a class that can serve the healer role.
