Turtle WoW

Hi fellas. Playing for 2 months in Turtle WoW and loving it and never got any queue. A bit concerned with the queue as i think the server is rising in popularity and it will even get more full in the future.

Are there reasons to be concerned? Is this normal?

Same here. I think the queues only hit during peak European and East Asian times. I've been here for a couple of years now and it's never been like this before recently. Hopefully the new server will alleviate some of the population issues.

There is no such thing as peak times, it's just always overpopulated, no matter if I login in the morning, noon, evening, night. Gone are the days of 2k players max. It's just borderline unplayable on weekends. =/

Its overpopulated no matter what time. On weekends i only do dungeon runs for exp because theres no point in even trying to quest.

barrens yesterday 2pm gmt was almost empty constantly mob wise and im not even going to bother doing the pirates because theres 8 people constantly trying to get a tag on baron

9000+ online now, unplayable

They could always open a new general realm…

Even if they did do that, it almost always ends up dying out because new players still choose the more populated realm, and the less populated realm just keeps losing population.

That's a good point. I know that when I played Classic (for about two weeks) prior to Wrath Classic's launch, players were pretty much situated on, like, two realms out of the 30 available on the East Coast.
… and the RP / RP-PVP realms were like playing on a local emulated server; dead and empty…

I dunno, though. No one likes dealing with queues. People might make alts on the other realm for when the main realm is jam-packed. Could be good for the community… The RP community, that is. Nyeh heh.

I mean, the discussion has to happen at some point. I would be ok with multiple servers...dividing one RP/PVE and one PVP and keep BG's cross server or something. idk how it would work on the backend though, if its even possible on this client.

If online will be 9000 for some time without upgrading the server power or adding a new realm - we will start loosing people for sure =(

Good thing you can team up for that, since everyone gets the kill. Even though you need to fight between a Softcore/Hardcore party it shouldn't be that big a problem. Normal drop quests on the other hand, is a much bigger problem with this high a population :/

And just today 1200+ position in queue.... :F . I don't see any obvious solution for this.

The only solution is to open more servers.
Turtle wow is victim of its own success.

Isn't success a danger on its own?

i mean, may attract too much attention to the server.

1) Open an Asian server (NOW, not in 5 months)
2) Range ban Asia on the original server, give all Asian IPs a free transfer to the new realm

Isn't 10,000 the limit per realm, something that Turtle WoW cannot increase?

That was my first thought. I bet at this point more people play Turtle WoW than Vanilla on Activision, I wouldn't be surprised if Activision gets jealous and tries to sabotage the server.

I kinda miss when Turtle WoW had 150 players and x0.5 XP rates now. xD

One possible short-term solution would be to forbid Multi-boxing. Not ideal but if there are queue's then people should not dual-log.

This is actually a fair and reasonable idea.

aaaand position in queue 3000+ , estimated waiting time 1 hour. FML . :(

One thread of complaints should be sufficient enough until it settles. Although it is not in my authority to say so. Regardless if u wish more content then step in the >>> portal.

The only hours I have to play are plagued by a 40 min wait time turtle wow is a fun game but these queue times have ruined the game for me because I don't have all day to sit in a queue. I had a lot of fun but waiting 40 mins kills a game for me plus when you log on there is no mobs no gnodes just a ghost and people waiting to tag mobs. I really had fun and the deves have really come up with something niche here but who has 90 mins to sit and wait to play a game? I'm gunna try another wow plus server I CANT STAND QUEUE TIMES. It would be nice if they made a sever only for people that donate and split the server pop already or your gunna fall faster than you rose. Not every one can sacrifice there life to wait and play this game I really hope the deves do somthing soon or people gunna stop playing. No one wants to wait an hour to play a game come on deves make a new realm. All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. The wealth of the wise is their crown, but the folly of fools yields folly.

But when everybody will have a queue pass, nobody will again.

And that's a bad solution to a real problem. Because the peak WoW experience is actually with ~5000 players on the server. If you only put a pass, it doesn't resolve the core problem (too many people on the server).

Please no. 1. it betrays the entire philosophy of a free and open internet. 2. We don't need to divide the haves and have-nots. 3. Even if I would pay for it...and I would....what happens when you're queue'ing into wait times a few short weeks later? Have an advanced login where you pay even more to get even more prio? Moltenwow did that as well. :*(

I agree to that they knew their game but t-wow is different in many ways and its 20 years into the game already that might just count for something. Regarding the donation-pass its defenitely a no.

Server is dead? Write now no connection

The server isn't playable any more. I really miss the days with 1000 or 1500 max population. Now I have 500-1500 queue and I cancel the login. Soon I will stop trying to enter.
If the problem are from chinese players than open fast the asian server and force the asian players there. Otherwise you will have an asian server and I am not sure if these players help with donations. As I see it the 10k+ killing the server. Do something fast to save it

+1 I remember when the pop was 1500 max. Good times :p Now I have to wait ages to log in.
