Pre-1.17.0 Endgame Item Changes

Greetings! We have compiled a list of end-game itemization changes that have been done before the release of Patch 1.17.0: Beyond the Greymane Wall. Please refer to patch specific itemization changelogs for more recent changes and additions. This list primarily concerns items that already exist in vanilla. Any changes not found here like set bonus changes can be found in their respective topic posts.
This list will be primarily split into two major sections: General, Raid Drops, where the latter is also split into which changes done for which raids.


General:
  • Eye of the Beast and Don Rodrigo's Band: Now usable by Shamans.
  • Lei of the Lifegiver [+53 Healing Power, +3 MP5] -> [+9 Spirit, +40 Healing Power, +5 MP5]
  • Elemental Focus Band: Increased Spellpower from 22 to 24.
  • Earthern Guard: Armor buffed from 2468 to 2575, Block buffed from 44 to 47, added 1% Block.
  • Windshear Cape: Increased Strength from 8 to 10, added 1% Haste.
  • Gauntlets of the Shining Light: Removed 10 Spirit, 22 Healing Power -> 16 Spell Damage
  • Death Knight Sabatons: 9 Spirit -> Agility
  • Bloodmail Hauberks: 10 Spirit -> Agility
  • Handcrafted Mastersmith Leggings: 12 Stamina -> 29 Stamina, 29 Strength -> 12 Strength
  • Gift of the Elven Magi: 6 Spirit -> 8 Spell Damage
  • Bludstone Hammer: 12 Spirit -> 12 Intellect
  • Energized Chestplate: 13 Strength -> 8 Defense
  • Backusarian Gauntlets: 9 Strength -> 14 Block Value
  • Morlune's Bracers: 7 Stamina -> 12 Stamina, 12 Intellect -> 7 Intellect, 11 Spirit -> 14 Block Value
  • Bile-etched Spaulders: 6 Stamina -> 17 Stamina, 17 Strength -> 6 Strength
  • Grand Crusader's Helm: 12 Spirit -> 12 Intellect
  • Righteous Orb: Critical chance increase has been increased from 3% to 5%.
  • Grimy Metal Boots: 17 Strength -> 17 Stamina
  • Wind Dancer Boots: 16 Spirit -> 16 Agility, 9 Intellect -> 9 Stamina

Raid Drops:
Zul'Gurub:
  • Seafury Leggings: 14 Spirit -> 6 MP5


Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj:
  • Boots of the Desert Protector: 14 Stamina -> 20 Stamina, Removed 4 MP5 and 12 Strength, Added %1 Block Chance and 14 Block Value


Molten Core:
  • Increased the proc chance of Shadowstrike and Thunderstrike from 1 proc per minute to 1.5 procs per minute.
  • Increased Health Regen of Sash of Whispered Secrets from 6 to 10 every 5 seconds.
  • Removed 11 Spirit from Seal of the Archmagus and added 13 Spellpower instead.
  • Removed 10 Spirit from Band of Sulfuras and added 12 Spellpower instead.
  • Added 69 Holy Spellpower to Benediction.


Onyxia's Lair
  • Removed Spirit from Dragonslayer's Signet, reduced Intellect and Stamina from 12 to 8, and added 18 Spellpower.
  • Reduced all resistances of Ring of Binding from 10 to 5, Increased Defense from 4 to 6, Increased Armor from 60 to 100, and added 16 Stamina.


Blackwing Lair:
  • Increased the fire delay of Dragonbreath Hand Cannon from 2.6 seconds to 3.1 seconds, the DPS remains the same.
  • Added 5% Mana regeneration in combat to Gloves of Rapid Evolution.
  • Helm of Endless Rage: [+26 Strength, +26 Agility, +29 Stamina] -> [+25 Strength, +25 Agility, +26 Stamina, +1% Hit]
  • Legguards of the Fallen Crusader: [+28 Strength, +22 Agility, +17 Intellect, +22 Stamina] -> [+35 Strength, +20 Agility, +18 Stamina, +1% Hit]
  • Removed 17 Spirit from Black Ash Robe and added 20 Spellpower instead.
  • Replaced 17 Spirit of Herald of Woe with Agility.
  • Replaced 15 Spirit of Primalist's Linked Waistguard with 15 Agility, also added 1% Haste.
  • Removed spirit from Girdle of the Fallen Crusader, increased Agility from 10 to 16 and Stamina from 15 to 17. Also added 1% Haste.
  • Removed spirit from Primalist's Linked Legguards and added 13 Spellpower instead, also increased Stamina and Intellect from 22 to 23.
  • Removed spirit from Angelista's Grasp and added 11 Spellpower instead.
  • Removed spirit from Therazane's Link and increased Intellect from 12 to 14, increased Stamina from 22 to 24 and added 1% Haste.


Temple of Ahn'Qiraj:
  • Reduced Stamina of Gloves of the Redeemed Prophecy from 20 to 16 and Intellect from 20 to 10, added 12 Agility and replaced 37 Healing Power with 20 Spellpower
  • Reduced intellect of Gloves of the Fallen Prophet from 20 to 15, replaced 44 Healing Power with 23 Spellpower. Gloves of the Fallen Prophet have been added to the same trash loot tables as the Gloves of the Redeemed Prophecy as the shaman counterpart of their Prophecy set.
  • Increased Spellpower of Scaled Leggings of Qiraji Fury from 36 to 39.
  • Replaced 10 Spirit of Gauntlets of the Righteous Champion with Agility.
  • Replaced 10 Spirit of Gauntlets of Kalimdor with Agility.
  • Replaced 1% Parry on Thick Qirajihide Belt with 1% Dodge, Increased Strength from 10 to 13 and Agility from 15 to 18.
  • Increased the fire delay of Blessed Qiraji Musket from 2.6 seconds to 3.1 seconds, the DPS remains the same.
  • Swapped around the stats of Mantle of the Desert Crusade and renamed to Mantle of the Redeemed Prophecy: Intellect: 20 to 6 | Stamina: 17 to 20 | Strength: 10 to 17 | Agility: 6 to 10 | Swapped 44 Healing Power for 23 Spellpower and 21 Healing Power
  • Reduced Intellect of Mantle of the Desert's Fury from 20 to 15, Increased Strength from 6 to 9, and added 9 Agility. Renamed to Mantle of the Fallen Prophet and got a new model.


Naxxramas:
  • Digested Hand of Power: Reduced Intellect from 14 to 8, Reduced Stamina from 10 to 6, Increased MP5 from 10 to 12.
  • Pendant of Forgotten Names: Reduced Intellect and Spirit from 16 to 13, Increased MP5 from 7 to 10.

New Stats? Kind of Lame to nerf items from the hardest Instance in the Game.

There is nothing hard about having a hunter kite 2-4 mobs at a time around the main room for 10 mins until him and his 3 green geared friends kill it and maybe get a bis weapons. I'd rather remove epics from the loot tables of the mobs at the start though.

Guild Im in, we are on 4 Horsemen in Naxx. So assuming that I'm crying cause of the nerfs to random trash loot is ignorant on your part. But for them to nerf the weapons from trash loot which isnt even that powerful, but BiS Offhands is lame.

MSA is stronger than anything until Naxx? It comes from Naxx. And Yes it is Lame to Nerf the two best weapons in game. If they are worried about people farming items then make it so they arent kitable. Fixed. But if they are only nerfing the two weapons and not ALL the trash loot drops, then YES it is Lame to do so.

Why are you turning a PvP reward into something for PvE?
Is it not enough that every fresh 51 melee rushes into Alterac Valley to spend the next 8 levels being dead weight just so they can get their beloved Ice Barbed Spear or Lobotomizer?
It's hard to make Alterac Valley worse than it is, but if there's a way, that would be it.

Really terrible and shortsighted nerfs on the Naxx trash loot. You're killing catch-ups and itemization gap fillers while not adding anything to fill those slots.
Could have just made that gear drop off trash that isn't farmable.

You can't compare MSA only to Casti and Gressil from the hardest bosses when it can be obtained before Brutality Blade. It can make you skip 80% of raid weapon progression, so compare it to everything. Look at the bigger picture. They are nerfing all the trash drops. I'd rather see those items as random bonus boss loot though - like Armaments and Regalia in AQ40, since grinding trash helps with scrap farm.

Suggestion: Change the 10 intellect in Scaled Sand Reaver Leggings to 1% haste. It fits perfectly within budget and enhance shamans would love that change.

It's hard to make Alterac Valley worse than it is, but if there's a way, that would be it.
The origin of the rewards haven't been changed, and the shaman change for EotB is an older change done in 1.16.0, these posts are a comprehensive list of all changes that have been done so far, check for the 1.16.6 label for upcoming changes in the next patch.

Question: Why druid Tier 3 isn't changed like the T1&T2 to make it usable for moonkins? The same goes to the ZG druid set which increases the critical chance of moonkin spells but has only healing power on it, making it useless and awkward... as a moonkin lover, I seriously cannot think of another spec in the game that has a more awkward itemization... I would love to see moonkins get some love in future plans. Thanks.

Each of those sets, especially T2 and T3, are resto-centered and changing those sets to boomkin would completely gut the resto playstyle entirely. That's not a good solution. T1 is garbage, though.

The T2.5 changes are a boomkin set through and through. They're solid pieces aside from the shoulders and would greatly assist them in higher-end raiding. Other off-sets like AQ20 and ZG sets could realistically be made into boomy sets, but the mainline sets actively do not need this sort of change and it would be deeply hated in the raiding community.

Perhaps I was not clear.

You are taking a PvP reward and turning it into something that is more suitable for PvE.
PvE players don't want to PvP. They just want their items. They are being a burden to the team and themselves. And you actively encourage them to do that with these changes.

PvP rewards should be bad for PvE (well, not too bad per se, just worse than their PvE loot alternatives acquired with similar effort). And vice versa. PvP rewards should be better for PvP.
MP5 and spirit are not PvP stats. You took a PvP reward and made it more desirable for PvE players.

And this applies to every single PvP reward, not just this one. The changes should be such that PvE players do not want to spend time getting them in the first place, and PvP players do want to spend time getting them.

Is it necessary to do this? These items are some of the most competitive that a melee paladin has in naxxarramas, understanding that the t3 is only for healing.
Value the possibility of adding them as boss looting, please do not nerf it
