1. Is Arms DPS more viable on this server due to not needing to worry about Mortal Strike knocking important debuffs off a boss, or is Fury still king? My guess is flurry is simply too good for poleaxe/sword spec to make up for.
2. I've heard of a slam macro that lets you spam the hotkey for perfectly timed slams after your white hit every time. Does anyone know what it is?

The debuff cap is raised, so having mortal strike would be great to have on bosses that DO have healing, but not a lot do I would assume. I think it's 64, so that's at minimum about one or two debuffs for each of the 40 raid members. Meaning you likely won't be taking debuffs off depending on what your raid comp looks like or if it's a smaller raid.

Arms isn't bad because "no mortal strike on boss", it's bad because fury is much better. Dual wielding for tons of Flurry procs, as well as Bloodthirst's damage scaling better with AP, among other things.
Arms is more of a PvP spec, where its burst damage really shines.

Not having flurry is not viable for dps that's pretty much the whole story in a nutshell.
