My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
Yo!
Just wanna share my experience with this server.
Started playing about 9 months ago - had a blast leveling (Slow and Steady). Reached 80 in 18 days /played.
Made great friends been in 2 great Guilds:
GRoDG for lvling - awesome times with Un'Goro Guild House Teleport
ED for raiding - awesome Raids, really nice and smooth - 0 Drama what so ever, very friendly and competent
Been part of Coalition for World Bosses hunting - reached dozen kills
Then since there wasn't much more to do I slipped into PvP ... which was the beginning of the end
3 weeks of real life I did my best to have meaningful experience doing PvP on Turtle WoW
Changed playstyle and builds multiple times - talked to many people
No matter what Druid is potato and Alliance sucks dick
80-90% random BGs are lost to semi-premade Horde groups
No matter what you fucking do ... they just roll over you
So 2 weeks ago in utter frustration I quiet the game
Went back to WotLK to my Arms Warrior - did about 1-2h of BGs 2-3 evenings / week for past 2 weeks - my experience absolutely fuckign different - finally I feel again like "I matter" in the BG and I got some meaningful experience :)
Back to toping DPS / Kills and back to winning objectives - no more hopelessness ...
So I guess thanks for having fun while lvling - that was nice ! :)
Just once you hit 60 and once you get BiS gear is kind of natural to do PvP I suppouse - what else is here to do?
And it really sucks after 30 days /played and farming BiS Feral Druid gear for PvP to find out you down right shitty useless ... + you fellas nerf Feral set xD fuckign briliant decision :D making useless class even more useless :)
Meanwhile on my WotLK account I got 5x BiS chars all of them for more then 5y+ and all of them are still relevant and fun to play ...
I actually switched 9 months ago to Turtle because the lvling here totally captivated me ... but once I finished the lvling and Raiding there isn't really anything more to do here?
Meanwhile on my WotLK acc for past 5y+ I jsut log in any time I like to get a little dopamine boost by winning 2-3 BGs in 30-50min
I guess I climbed the wrong ladder here really ... those 30 days kind of seemed wasted a bit ...
The journey was epic - destinations sucked though ...
I mean better to aim for moon and miss then aim for shit and hit ...
This time I aimed for moon and hit shit ... x)
Unlucky
My suggestion: Fix PvP God damn it ... like patch notes : We fixed typos in Quests ...
Oh great ... meanwhile there are legit bugs on this server for months going unfixed ...
PvP skills not working (Nature Grasp, Feral Charge on Druid) ...
BG disconnects gives you 15min deserter ...
Client crashes randomly on Alt Tab on loading screen ...
Maybe if those weren!t the case I might have stayed - I actually thought I was quiet a good guy here - gave away about 2k Gold worth of stuff in my 9months of playing here ...
Just ask ppl who gave away over 30x Living Shoulders 20x Living Legs and 10x Living Chests
Plus my giveaways of Traveler Backpacks and other random cool stuff in Ironforge Banks I held regularly
Crafted a bucnh of Convergence sets for my fellow Druids ...
Well now my Druid will RIP ... been nice ... gotta move on.
Thanks for great lvling experience
I feel betrayed by it though - it hooked me up for horrible ending
Good luck

Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
Just a few more quick facts:
I made a screenshot everytime I top DPS / damage done / objectves captured in BG
- I got 627 random BG screens, 119 premade BG screens on my Warrior in WotLK with 50 days /played
- I got 91 random BG screens on my DK in WotLK with 15 days /palyed
- I got 235 random BG screens on my Pally in WotLK with 25 days /palyed
- I got 25 random BG screens on my Hunter with about 9 days /played
vs.
- I got 2 random BG screens on my Druid from 30 days /played on TurtleWoW
One more fun fact:
BG map on TurtleWoW for past 9 months doesn't even fucking show objectives - like on AB you have no clue what bases have been capped?
That all just makes you feel like PvP is something nobody gives a shit about in here ...
Yet as Warmane proved for past almost 10y+ (and I am living and breathing example) if you jsut make PvP work at least semi decent (Warmane has it's own issues with AV40man BGs being perma farmed by premades hence unplayable) ppl will stay and find it fun over all
I really loved AVs here (the PvE aspect and minibosses and quests) as Ally - although it seemed like Horde didnt even try ... but you gotta wait 90min queue for 1 AV on Ally ... and is a bit of a ROFL stomp really ... no FUN in that ...
PvP should be in between 40-60% win ratio to at least keep it semi-balannced
But here is like 90% win rate for Ally in AVs with 90min queue
Or 90% lose rate in ABs with 15min queue
Pick your poison

Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
Guess that's all I wanted to say. Server is great for lvling. I assume is best for Hardcore players - because their whole thing is lvling.
But for anybody looking for more then that it will be a disappointment in the end - there is only so much Raiding you can do until it becomes dull ...
And then when you turn to PvP ... to finally put all that shiny armor you have to test ... you realize skills don't work ... BGs balance suck ... disconnects give your deserter ... objectives dont show on map ...
Duh ... I repeat myself ... it jsut huge disappointment ...
Like why invest 30 days /played into a character you gonna leave in the end with bitter taste on your tongue ...
My advice to any newcomer reading this - if you wanna PvP (at all) roll Horde
And ask around ppl what works and what not
I talked to two R14 players to each for about 30min (2x) both told me basically this:
Best BG classes on Turtle WoW are: Hunter and Shadow Priest
Alliance used to be good - ain't any more - now is unplayable
From what I seen in BGs : Mages, Rogues and Warriors do decent as well
Locks and Shamans on Horde seems good
Druids (any spec) and healing Priests are MEME class

One more suggestion : Enable paid Faction transfer or make BGs cross faction ... that might even the odds I suppouse ... what is the point of cross faction Raids and non-cross-faction BGs
I personally hate cross faction in WoW ... it jsut takes away that nice element of 2 opposing factions ... but since we already have it here ... we should go all the way?
Because is really dump to do a Raid with a guy 3x / week see him get the gear you lost /roll on ... and then getting smacked by him in BG ... instead of having him on your team ... when oyu legit helped to get his gear xD
Thats the ultimate facepalm ... one of many that made me quit 2 weeks ago

Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
God damn it seems like I had a lot to say xD 6AM another night lost on this. Gotta stop it.
Sleepless nights because of 30 days invested in something that went to shit ... damn.
Nonethe less for my own mental health gotta move on. Just hope there won't be mroe lost cases like me here ... I feel for you guys. Don't put days of your energy into something that is gonna betray you in the end.
Do better.
I go back to my other hobbies.
Fare well.

Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
There is something in that notion about playing and fun - you do things that are fun for you, if they aren't fun, don't do them.
I don't enjoy PvP in WoW, tried it, but never liked it and so I avoid it so as I don't have non-fun times.
Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
It was the same on offical Classic Servers. As long as you have a Premade you steamroll all random or semi random groups. I still believe there should be 2 ques, 1 for premade grps only and 1 for randoms only. There is simply no fun in joining a BG against a Premade Group. They will win 99/100 times.
And Heroic Dungeons are kinda needed in the long run. You would add ton of content with Heroic Dungeons in Classic.

Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
Seems like you just reached the end of your to-do list on this server (or at least on this char). You compare druid with warrior as if they're the same thing, druids are op flagcarriers in wsg. Every class has their downsides, what do you want? to blow people up with druid? That would make them op as they have so many other tools. They're not meant to be a top dps class at least not in vanilla.
Also calling druids and healing priests a meme class is just lol when Shape and Doxlbly have to be some of the biggest pains in the ass to play against.

Devs dont give a crap about pvp, 0 responses.
They are much more interested in typos and chicken escort quests fixes.
So w/e

Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
Its all about expectations, I made my Druid knowing I wouldnt be an absolute monster slaughtering every player in BG and getting massive crits and just nuking everyone.
Druid in classic is more about mobility and just being a general annoyance and hard to kill in bear, plus youve got good control with roots etc, and you're the best FC.
If you make Druid to 'Wreck' in PvP you've rolled the wrong class for this version of the game.

Druid is amazing in PvP here so dunno what are you crying about.
Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
This is the guy we had a long long long discussion on discord in the #pvp-general channel and yeah.... steelgrip wanted druid to be warrior and got super upset that it wasn't. He is beyond reason
Zaas - 60 High Elf Warrior
Saere - 60 Night Elf Priest
Splendra - 59 Inferno Mode Warlock
I play a few other classes on my friends' accounts.
Slowly leveling a Resto Dryad and a dorf pally with my buddy.

Re: My experience - leveling is great, raiding is good - PvP makes you quit
The moment I saw a take as hot as druids being memes in pvp I literally shit myself laughing. Speaking of, I have to go clean that up XD
Elmhoof - 60 Feral, between tanking/dps (Main)
Anbone 34 Shadow Priest (Planned secondary main)
Manypunchman - 10 Naked Troll Boxer (Hardcore)
I'm back! More or less...
