I'm torn between rolling a shaman or a priest. Primarily for healing.
I enjoy both, so it mostly comes down to which is more desired. Are the above posts about resto shaman being most wanted correct?

Thanks

There is a difference between plenty of low level shamans and Shamans that reach level 60 and are actively played.

People burn out a lot on Shamans on the way to 60 or they quit because they see all the other low level Shamans and think they won't be needed.

You can run 8 shamans in any raid no problem. Totem support is amazing. You won't have trouble finding a raidspot, especially if you are willing to heal

well I stuck with my shaman, at 38 now.
I can see why people burn out levelling them. I actually enjoying healing dungeons as shaman more than any other healing class, ranged interrupt, totems, instant slow for runners - great tools.

But levelling is so painful, even as enhancement i'm constantly having to drink. Trying to level 90% in dungeons, but now I'm skint due to not questing, doh.

just wanna be max level and heal...

Any idea why?
I was thinking of leveling one but having to drink so much and dropping one totem at a time are mega turn offs

Well I would imagine for the reasons I gave above, but to list what I'm struggling with :

1. (worst issue) awful mana regen, worst in the game
2. enhancement spec basically involves autoattacking and hoping for a windfury proc.
3. dps is really low, unless you use spells a lot, and if you do, you're drinking after every 2 mobs.
4. gearing well means needing strength, agility, int, mp5, spellpower and crit, which just isn't possible
5. spending the first 6-8 seconds of each pull dropping totems and waiting for global cooldowns.

I do enjoy the gameplay when i'm healing a dungeon, and dps in a dungeon is ok if there's a pally to give blessing of wisdom, but being reliant on another class to mitigate a glaring flaw is irritating.

It's particularly irritating because the solution is so simple. Devs just need to add water shield WITH THE MP5 COMPONENT
why did they add it, without the only part that really matters??? so frustrating...

Tanks and healers in general while levelling seem to be rarer than dps (No surprise there). And they're almost always in demand. If you want to spam dungeons, druid, feral in particular is your best bet. They heal sufficiently when it's required, can excel at tanking, and do decent single target dps depending on the level range and your gear. I'm still levelling myself, but here's my two cents on endgame anyways. If your focus is endgame, druids are definitely good at most of what they do. Not to say that they outperform most classes, but they always get the job done. You're likely going to want to roll tank or heals as personally I believe that druids perform those roles better than the other ones they can do, and as a feral tank you can always dps as well, since most feral talents are beneficial to both cat and bear. Now, if you wish to focus on a singular spec or role, that's a different story, but druid is still an awesome choice regardless.
