Question about hunter pets and their tamed stats

Post by Snoodydood » Tue Nov 01, 2022 2:09 am

Does anyone know if certain tamed pets of certain families have better stats and armor when tamed, or if it's only dependent on the type of pet + their level? For example, the armored boars in RFk, do the level 28 armored boars have the exact stats that ANY boar would have at the exact same level? I know in OLD old Wow, certain pets were special and had above average stats in armor or resistances, but I don't know if they normalized everything, or kept some special attributes like armor rating for certain, special pets (such as ones found in instances like armored boars, Gham'oora ect.) when tamed by 1.12.

Afaik, the only differences within a pets family is the attack speed.
So petopia shows you everything you need to see.

An elite boar will have the same stats as a normal boar.

There used to be differences in abilities, most famous is probably Lupos, but that was patched out as you know.

The only thing you need to worry about is Attack Speed within a pets family.
HIgh/Fast Attackspeed = lower crits, good against casters, good at picking up Aggro on multiple targets
Low/Slow Attackspeed = higher crits, worse against casters, good burst, good Aggro on single targets, bad on multiple targets
