Hello all
I started this server just to be a casual, but something hooked me, the hardcore experience, i liked very much of this challange that i am myslef almost completing (in this moment a 54 priest). For this i must praize all effort and creativity of this server.
But i aways wanted something from classic, that i know i could never get from the blizzard servers, a rotation in dificulty like the diablo games. So by now most of you already know what i am about to suggest, a way to start characters in a mode thats harder.
Before anything, this mode cant be imposed to players, they must choose to create a character in the nightmare mode. I was thinking something like after you kill Ragnaros or another endgame boss you recive a quest that leads you to a quartermaster where you can buy an iten. This iten can be send only to alts and usable only on level 1 characters.
This level one characters that use this iten become nightmare mode character, by this they cant trade, mail or party with normal mode characters, only with nightmare ones. Besides that they have their own AH (or no AH at all), but they cant share the same AH with the normal mode players.
And for the nightmare mode, players face everything 30% to 50% harder, and the xp is 30% to 50% lower. And they can only trade and party with another NMC (nightmare mode character) with the 5 level gap. And the NMC are still in this mode even when they reach level 60, its permanent.
And each time you retake the nightmare mode, you can start in a harder difficulty. For example, after you finishing in the nightmare mode (killing Ragnaros again) you can start the hell mode, where everything is 50 %to 100% harder. And you can only party and raid with other hellmode characters.
Sure that in these modes you dont get XP from grey and green mobs.
Sure if the HC challange worked in parallel would be the perfect.

while talking about this idea in the guild chat, some friends said that in this way a normal mode character could just boost the nightmare mode ones. But i guess theres a way to fix this by imposing a debuff in anyone that attacks a mob tagged by a NMC.
And to avoid missunderstandings, changing the color of the players nameplate to orange, so the others know.
The debuff could be alike the one reviving in the sprit.

Btw i know thats a lot of work, but i guess most of it is already done with all HC changes made. But if you need my help to add more datails and think more about it. Just ask.

Just make a HC server, disable AH, remove mailboxes etc
Transfer all 1-59 hc chars and have them transfer back at 60.

I am also in favor of nightmare mode where everything hits harder. Just have it be an option early on in the game like hardcore is.

I like this. What I always wished for is an "Elite WoW". In that version every mob is an elite, basically meaning you need to grp for everything.
"Elite WoW" is also achievable if everything stays the same, but your character is tuned down a lot. There is only one problem this way - actual elite mobs become impossible.
In any case - anything of the sort - making the world more difficult as an option get a +1 from me.
The idea here is good. It might need adjustments, but that is why it is here.

That's a cool idea. I imagine it would need a level sync feature. That's how some FFXI priv servers do it. Definitely something I'd be interested in. Anything that makes gameplay more social and stuff.

Exaclty, for what i think, the harder is the game, more we need eachother, so we create stronger bonds
