Tbc wf and paladin blessings

Post by Geojak » Sun Aug 28, 2022 9:30 am

I would liek to suggest changing wf totem into its tbc version.

That's is
1. Wf totem works for feral druids (feral buff)
2. Wf totem does not procc on instant attacks (no more hamstring fishing, a buff shouldn't be so powerfull it changes the way to play your class depending you got it or not, slight warrior nerf but will be offset so read on)
3. Let totems stack with paladin buffs
4. Blizzard realised this is a necessary change too to balance paladisn and shamans in the same raid with stacking buffs, they also relied hamstring wf design makes balancing a class almost impossible. I not advocating to blindly copy blizzard but in this case they did good!

Now to point 3 and Why it's bad currently
1. Its very unintuitive, new player keep joining and get surprised by this, because its also nowhere explained in game. Bad design
2. No other classes biffes have This kind of weird interaction with each other. Bad precendece not fitting vanilla design and contrary to what ppl expect from post tbc
3. It's only in game for gameplay balance reason of warriors. Therefor if rework wf (slight nerf for warriors) we can allow paladin blessing to stack with wf.

It's not fun for the new paladin wondering why his buffs keep somehow disappearing for no reason.

Its also not fun having to explain to the new shamans that his totems nuke some paladin buffs

I have talked with naxx raiding warrior zaas, and he for example would be in favour of this change.

A slight warrior nerf should only be welcomed since they're at the very top of the food chain. I wouldn't worry about "inconveniencing" them.

Im fine with all suggestions, but allow shamans stormstrike to still proc windfury. Its the only attack we have that you must spec deep into enh to get, and right now it cant proc windfury and it feels god awful to play with

Oh keep shaman wf unchanged, it's just about wf totem thaz shamans don't even use themselves

Just need to keep pvp Hurst in mind thought. Maybe storms strike wf would be a op with slow 2h to one shot

stormstrike always procced windfury until the new rank came out with changes, which was supposed to be an upgrade, but the old version still does proc windfury and when you learn rank 2 at 60 you lose it.

Another proof of bad design, newer players even think pala and shaman buffs not stacking is a bug and are making bug reports on githib

Pls reconsider

Yes.

Classes shouldnt cripple each other when playing in a party

This was last looked at in December last year and closed after internal discussion. Is there any incentive in the Dev team to reconsider their position on this?

When they realize raids actually want paladin blessings, shamans have no buttons to press 90% of the time, if they're even sought after.

That decision was, and I'm 99% sure of it, made in the context that paladins and shamans were equally desired, paladins for kings wisdom and salv, shamans for WF and SoE. In light of new assessments, raids do not want shaman dps totems. At best you want healing stream, tremor totem.
