Mysteries of Azeroth — is a story expansion made by the Turtle WoW Team, inspired by the Warcraft universe of Blizzard Entertainment. https://forum.turtle-wow.org/
What did I just watch? No one wants a new engine and graphics, we want new content and class balancing.

I'm starting to guess that turtle team want to rebuild Vanilla on a new Engine, so they will have more features and tools for developing of new content. If that's the plan, then as Asmongold said about possible Vanilla Plus from Blizz: "You must go balls to the wall", and take all what is good about Vanilla and Retail, dropping everything that sucks, without fear or regret.

Very interesting. Looks like the team has a significant progress in breaking Vanilla client's limits - I highly doubt that's TBC or WotLK replacement.

A new client is necesary and that's my suposition.
Cause even in custom content, the Vanilla Client has some limits.

I like everything, except the lighting looks off and it makes the zone look like something entirely different. The whole Barrens feeling is gone.
I hope on July 7 it is explained what the purpose of this is, because if done right, it can be really awesome, but currently, this lighting makes the scenery like it's from another game.
Someone said it's a new engine, at first I thought the WoW assets got ported into a new engine, but then I realized it would mean the developers would have to rebuild the whole game from scratch, which is impossible, so I think this is some kind of RTX effect, which looks cool, but something must be done about the lighting so it's not so generic.
Something I've noticed on 0:22 is the Plainstrider above the goblin, turns direction by skipping animation and then on two occasions glitches into the opposite direction, I don't remember this glitch in WoW before, so it might be a clue about what they are trying to show us.

This looks like some 'proxy' support for using the retail (modern) classic client on the Turtle WoW server.
I would greatly appreciate the performance boost that comes with a native 64-bit modern client, provided it isn't shunted to 'Windows 10+ only' garbage. Keep compatibility for Win7+ and potentially even allow it as an alternative client rather than being the only option.
Not everyone has money to upgrade to a fancy top of the line PC. Having the v1.12 client means lower system requirements.
I'm not a fan of that aesthetic, to be perfectly honest; the HD patches that already exist do a fantastic-enough job of applying a 'high resolution' upgrade to things without going overboard. Just need the daytime skybox/clouds to be done just like the existing nighttime sky HD mod and that would be it for visual upgrade wishes.
If this is some attempt to do like Ascension did and do a fully-customized modern client with new UI and everything then that would be amazing but it would have to be done right and allow the devs full source code access so they can continue to update and upgrade the client over time.
Everything in that trailer can already be done in v1.12 with the HD patches that already exist, minus the excessive bloom and sunrays/shadow effects going on.

I hope if there’s a new client that it isn’t obligatory. I’m happy with my 1.12 client, and I’ve got all my addons, macros, and keybinds set just fine on my desktop, laptop, and Steam Deck.
If there’s a new client that is required to keep playing and it breaks my addons or macros I’d probably stop playing. I don’t have the stomach to spend a whole weekend getting everything set up right.

Since when are you the voice of all players? Talk for yourself, not for everyone else. :)
I'm excited for what this exactly means. Looking forward to 07.07.

I'm not the voice of all players either, but I agree with him. I would be more excited by new and unique PvP features...
Curious to know more about the new graphics though

Same here.
That said, I understand why Twow devs chose this approach.
New features appeal to experienced players, who have done everything in the game and are looking for reasons to keep playing or to return to the game.
But the game's lifespan is still very long, and the current challenge for Turtle WoW is more about attracting new players... and in that regard, revamped graphics (which give a 'WoW 2.0' feel) are probably more impactful than features that mostly concern advanced players.

Agreed, it's more appealing for newcomers but if a server wants to retain players the pvp scene is important to invest in too. Only so many times you can run the same raids over and over. :>

If this is a new updated client, then this is the best news ever!

My opinion as well. If there are drastic changes to the graphics I hope they are optional. I don't have the beefiest rig.

It’s very similar to UE5, where does a client come from on UE5 - it’s nowhere, that’s the same, so it’s just a beautiful video for intrigue)

Amazing! It will attract more new players if new engines and images, the old is really to old.
Vrograg Fishslayer (the guy fron twow news) talked to one of the devs, Akrilex i think, don't know how to spell his name. Anyway, the graphics will be optional, so there is no need to worry on that front at least.
