Random ability ideas

Hey!

These are not suggestions by themselves and are not balanced out but writing some abilities which I think would be cool in the game. Not backporting retail ones, just a generic brainstorming or changing existing talents.

Elemental shaman
Windblow (passive): Each received melee hit granting the shaman 5% movement speed increase for 10 sec, stacking up 5 times. To help getting away from sticky situations with earthbind+frost shock.

Enh shaman
A mana recharge spell after each spell or melee crit.
Thunderhead instead giving shield-specific bonus: spell damage for lightning, mana regen for water, damage reduction for earth.
That wind stun some mobs like certain centaurs have. Give one to enh.

BM hunter
Beast Command: A bottom-tree BM utility, giving target debuff which increases hunter pets' crit chance on the target.
Safe Cover: A party-wide buff which increases pet avoidance (aoe damage taken).
Goal is to give BM hunter a raid utility. Beast buff is a good niche and is in-flavor imo.

Melee hunter
Raptor strike giving + damage to your and to your pet's next attack.
Giving your pet a damage buff on targets which you have recently hit with a melee attack.
For raid utility, I'd go with the in-combat traps, too, they are awesome.
Trap idea (survival only): increasing DoT damage on the target by 10%.
Would also give survival hunters a taunt so they can get any mob in combat to kite them towards a trap.

Disc priest
Some added bonus to choose them over holy. PI is nice but it's only enough reason for speedrun guilds.
Shield of Faith: reducing PW Shield CD by 2 sec and giving them a HoT effect as long as they are on. Would give a double utility for shields: emergency usage + adding a hot + exrtra protection for a damaged ally.

Shadow priest
Not an aoe, but a cleave with some minor CD. Resembling to ele's chain lightning.

Holy priest
Champion's Resolve - make it a better fearward, not a worse one. F.ex. champion is immune to fear for 3 minutes (but 2h CD).
Revive Champion - enables one res (even in combat) from the priest. Once in 2h CD. Current one is useless.
Champion's Bond: either a generic damage reduction spell or if we go the spirit link way link it to 2 DPS not the healer. Healers break easily.

Resto druid
Out of combat rez please.
Improved regrowth allows a stack of two at any target.

Balance druid
Moonkin form should also give a 10% mana regen while casting.

Feral druid
Adding 1-2 swipe-like ability to cat. Not aoe but enabling multi-target damage.

Affliction warlock
Making curse of agony percentage-based and making improved curse of agony a good raid DoT.
Making amplify curse having some (small) effect on CoE, CoS and CoR. To make affli feel special.
Raise the base damage of drain soul to make shard collectiong a better experience.

Demonology warlock
Scale pet damage with warlock gear to make lock pets relevant in raid if you don't wanna sac them.
Also, improved pet talents could give a party-utility pet talent (like +spirit for succubus, +armor for voidie).

Destruction warlock
Make improved searing pain lose the added threat modifier so destros have something to spam at raids.
Remove soul shard restriction from soul fire.
Make improved shadow bolt give destruction spell buff not shadow spell buff (or both).
Make shadowburn reset its CD if target died before shadowburn debuff disappeared from target.

Prot pala
Ardent defender: let it face directly tank palas biggest problem and just give a passive -x% chance to be critically hit from any source.
Give them a cool looking but weak range pull option.

Retri pala
Make holy strike melee damage based.
In exchange, as a buff, give them a talent which increases the effectiveness of pala blessings on them. F.ex. blessing of kings becoming a 15% boost with that talent on them, instead of 10%.

Holy pala
I could imagine a holy-pala only HoT blessing. Heals x life every 3 sec while it's on.

Arms warrior
Weapon specialisation also giving 5% in that weapon skill.
Giving mortal strike a target debuff raising melee crit chance on the target.

Prot warrior
Raising shield moves' threat modifier.
Shield slam, instead of the dispell effect would give you a rage generation buff from any source.
Improved sunder armor added cost reduction + added threat.
Improve shield wall decreasing shield wall CD and giving added threat for each received hit during shield block.

Assassination rogue
Vigor increasing the energy received via each tick by 5 instead.
You could decide that you want the passive regen boost or the big temporal boost with adrenaline rush.
Alternatively, since tree is a crit-based build, vigor giving back x% of the abilitiy's energy if it was a crit.

Subtlety rogue
Premeditation instead giving a debuff on the target, making abilities targeting it cost 10% less energy (for each rogue and cat).

Frost mage
A talent lowering the target's melee haste for 5 sec after a frost spell crit, stacking up 3 times. Slowing the enemies down this way would feel flavorful.

Fire mage
They def need a spell penetration talent so they are not forced out of they favourite spec at early raids.

Arcane mage
Giving them a leech-like ability, restoring their mana after damage being delt. Kind of what spriests do with life but only targeting them. It can boost brilliance aura effect.
