I walked out of the Goldshire inn after being away from some time, and was greeted by a signpost, it stands quite tall and has a picture of a draught of beer.
Okay.
It doesn't seem to fit the scene awfully well, if you look at the sign from the entryway of the GS Inn, you'll notice behind you is a lamp post (Blizzard made), the differences between these two objects are pretty stark.
The beer sign:
- Is not animated to lazily sway (Like the lamp post)
- Is very oversaturated in colour (Unlike the lamp post, which blends in with the scene)
- The beer image on the sign post is aggressively high resolution.
- The sign post limbs are way too angular, in contrast with the lamp post.
- Has no collision.
I really like the texture work but feel the sign post was overdone and the scene surrounding it wasn't considered when applying colours. Desaturate it and contort it a bit, go wild!
