Turtle WoW

This service was available when I started playing on Turtle just over a year ago, and then somewhere along the road, it was deactivated and I never saw an official post on the matter. That's not to say that the devs didn't post one, but all I've ever found have been rumors from other players in-game. Some said that it was bugged and being fixed, others that due to the population growth the Turtle team could no longer keep up with offering the service in its' present (at the time), manual form and were deactivating until they found a method of automating it. For months now, I've heard essentially nothing in the way of updates or plans to reinstate this beloved service.

I know that there will always be the vanilla-era purists who'd rather not see such a thing available to players but considering that Turtle WoW is a vanilla + server, I think that this was and would be again a fitting amenity that helps both players & the team.

I hope that Turtle indeed plans to return the race/faction change service in some manner as I know it's sorely missed and would be much appreciated by the vast majority of players.

I completely agree. I hope Turtle WoW considers bringing back the race/faction change service. It was a convenient feature that benefited both players and the team. Looking forward to hearing more updates and plans on this matter.

Race changes were programmed manually by one guy who left the turtle team.
With the server having grown so much and this guy no longer being there it's no longer possible until an automatic tool has been developed.

100% agree, for example people who are playing as Warlock or Hunter, can't change the race to Troll or Human, after they become available after Patch 1.17.1.

Interesting, I never heard about that.. I wonder if it's true.

Either way, I hope that TWoW reactivates the service eventually or would at least make a statement about it.

You can ask the Turtle team for confirmation of what I say.

Race change is still available through the creation of a new character. Work with that until things are figured out.

Or implement a system where a player can become friendly with a faction.
