Death by griefing

Post by Decks » Sun Oct 22, 2023 9:11 am

Did my first HC, was very easy so far.
Got killed by lvl 60 horde griefing with a hunter pet..... Unavoidable death.
GM said we do not restore..
This is the policy I guess?

After Reading Turtle WoW's forum i understood why Blizzard stopped responding on their own forum topics.

I can think of at least one way this death could have been avoided.

You got killed by someone "disguising" their flagged pet as a mob? That's hilarious! And hopefully, you've learned a lesson from your absentminded clicking.

To answer your question: the GMs will never revive a dead Hardcore character for any reason. However. The person who killed you has broken the rules.
To keep the community friendly the following activities are strictly forbidden:
  • Harassing a player by following them around and tagging mobs they need to kill for a quest or tricking them into getting flagged for PvP without their intent.
Hopefully, you have some sort of tangible evidence that this happened. If you happen to have the character's name, rather than the pet, that would be ideal. Screenshots and log files, of course, would also be very helpful. Otherwise, a rough estimate of when and where this happened might suffice. Whatever the case, open an in-game ticket clearly explaining the situation, and with any luck, something good will happen. Just remember that this won't get your character restored, but at least you might get something for your trouble.

GM did not care about anything, his first line was we do not restore. Not even caring what another person did. Even kicked me out of the game and conversation...

For the record, I did not click the pet. Just dragging mobs over me that debuff you and get you in combat with them.

Anyhow, was fun playing HC. Thanks for the input. Time for moving on.

Dragging mobs over with the intent of dumping them on someone is also against the rules. You really should report this person. It may not directly benefit you, but it might benefit the community.
