Rework Blessings

My idea:
1. decrease duration of [Blessing of Freedom] from 10 to => 8 sec
2. decrease duration of [Blessing of Protection] from 10 to => 6 sec
3. change the talent [Guardian's Favor]
old - [...increases the duration of Blessing of freedom by 3 sec]
new - [...increases the duration of all Blessings by 50%} (1/2)

Image

and when [Guardian's Favor] 2/2 - increases the duration of all Blessings by 100%
all blessing 5 min => with this talent = 10 min
[Blessing of Freedom] with talent = 16 sec
[Blessing of Protection] with talent = 12 sec

Game used to have a little bit of what you suggest. Early on in WoW's history, the Protection tree had a talent to make Blessing of Salvation last 15 minutes. For some reason it was removed with the talent alterations in late 2005. Add it back to the game, make it affect all the "standard" buff-type blessings and their greater equivalents.

Main problem, right now, is with the existing build a lot of folks don't have two points to spare.

Needing to make sacrifices for a build isn't necessarily a bad thing. If there was only going to be one universally "best" build for each spec, then there'd be no point in having options at all.

I agree. The Paladin currently suffers from the opposite. There are too few compelling options in the trees that cookie cutters are the extreme norm.

Cookie cutter is the norm because there aren't enough points to even get all the important stuff, leaving zero play for options. Almost no-one is going to pick up a quality-of-life talent when he has critical-for-his-function talents needing to be taken instead. An ideal talent tree should leave a player half a dozen points or so for options. Right now, we don't have that, and it shows.

Shouldn't have to talent for quality of life stuff like Blessings lasting longer than 5 minutes. But I would like to see Paladins get a talent to allow all or most of the blessings be able to cast on ourselves at the same time, and stack with other paladins blessings in the case of raiding.
