It's a little more complex, and Astricon is taking a much-deserved break. No updates to textures unless he returns or another texture artist steps forward, I'm afraid.

Wow so excited in the time I've been gone to see Zer0cool commenting and that cool video featuring this mod! Very very awesome. I've been playing baldur's gate 3 a ton lately which is why I've been absent, but I fully intend to one day (maybe soon) fix some mount textures and make some more sound changes as my boyfriend and I level a rogue and druid, or whatever else we do. I have a few weeks off coming up, so I may do some stuff then. Please comment any broken textures you notice that I can fix, and any spell sounds you might like updated, and I'll prioritize them. I'm also crossing my fingers because I maaaaay get a very WoW-related coding job soon which means that this experience possibly paid off monetarily for me haha. Thanks for all the feedback you've all given me! Except that one guy. Not elaborating. :)

In preparation for the upcoming content patch, the Turtle Dev Team has been kind enough to provide me with some insight into clientside changes in advance to allow me to begin preparing a compatibility update for patch-A.MPQ.

Great to have you back. Please be sure to let me know when you want to start working on DBCs again, as we will need to use this new patch-A I'm working on as the base for any changes.

Yes I figured that might be the case. I won't do anything until I have the cutting edge stuff in hand. If there's something I might be able to do to help get the mod ready for patch day pm me about it I'll see if I have time.

By the way, Redmagejoe there is also another mod that Leeviathan has made back then. He made a mod using the Chinese models and porting them back to classic. So I gave it a test here and the file work's directly as it is with no edit at all. Only you need to rename it as patch_C or D etc, probably a letter after any other mod. I also load it with your version of model patch and works ok. You can find it here if you want to test it too:
https://model-changing.net/index.php?ap ... llabs&id=9 under the section (Alternative Mods).
I include some pictures from the Character Creation screen.

Unfortunately it seems that the arcane missiles bug is related to certain models such as high elf female. It's not a bug with the spell itself. Since I don't have any modeling knowledge, I can't fix it.

Is it possible that new music was not added to the playlist but replaced it? Because I've been leveling in westfall and only new music played.

We do not support Chinese clients nor will we make a compatibility patch for it.

It's possible to have the patch-A.MPQ updated models but with the vanilla sound effects? I really like the older sinister strike and auto attack sounds (nostalgic reasons).

all right first and foremost, i LOVE the HD patch, however Patch-A.MPQ is now causing wow error#132's in stormwind

i tried deleting addons, reverting certain sound channel modifications, update drivers- de-update drivers to a previous state when i didnt get erros, still get #132, the moment i cut Patch-A out of the picture the game runs smooth

Here is the wow crash TXT im getting:

Some crashes caused by bad entries in DBCs are known. I have been diligently working to take this upcoming patch (for which I will have to make a compatibility update for Turtle HD anyway) and give it a proper optimization. As a result, I have been able to eliminate 99.9% of all player/asset caused #132 crashes. I have also been working with assistance from the Turtle Team to ensure that all of patch-A's DBCs are compatible with the upcoming DBCs from patch-4, ensuring that all new content is properly referenced and rendered and plays nicely with patch-A.

For that reason, I ask that you please be patient until I make the newest version of patch-A available in the first post of this thread. Astricon and I have been working to ensure that the newest version will be as bug-free as possible and have no crashes. There will still be some missing textures that are WIP as listed on the first post, and there is still a very rare, completely intermittent (see: cannot reliably reproduce, does not happen again after re-entering the game in the same place with all the same players in draw distance) #132 crash that only seems to occur in Stormwind or other incredibly high-population areas. Even with the 64-bit patch for WoW.exe, we believe this is an issue of insufficient memory that cannot be remedied with a tweak to Turtle HD.

Thank you for your patience, and look forward to the latest version coming in a few weeks.

For some reason I'm getting a bunch of checkered boxes and wierd textures for mounts after installing the 3 patches. Unsure if it's a new content thing from Turtle or my files are bugged? Lots of boxes for headpieces and even some players in the world are just small boxes. I've attached an image for reference below.https://imgur.com/a/UF8ru5V

Please be sure that you are not renaming any of the patches, and that you do not have any other custom MPQs loading after Turtle HD. Turtle's patches should be patch-3.MPQ, while Turtle HD's patches should be patch-A.MPQ and patch-B.MPQ. patch-C.MPQ is an optional patch which I have not thoroughly tested and would require troubleshooting from Astricon.

Hello, there's a way to hear the music? you know, like the TWoW Youtube Channel with all the soundtracks, I like the music in Westfall and I can't say how much time I spend only wandering around there only hearing the music hahaha

Or maybe say the origin of the soundtracks.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly but if you'd like to extract the game music (so you have mp3 files), you can do it (and a lot more) with this tool: https://www.hiveworkshop.com/threads/la ... or.249562/

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who made this mod. I haven't encountered any bugs so far - we'll see what happens when 1.17 hits! As long as it doesn't break anything major I'll keep using it even if it does introduce some new bugs.

I encountered a strange issue. At first everything worked like it should, but sometime later, flying transportation camera began to move slightly upwards. It began at Eastern Kingdoms first and then Kalimdor became affected too.

It's not a big deal, but maybe it is something known?

This is known. For whatever reason, it appears that the camera position on flights is elevated compared to in vanilla. None of the DBCs related to the patch seem to have anything to do with camera placement, so it may be something that is incorporated into one of the new models' data. Perhaps the gryphon / hippogryph / gargoyle / wind rider M2s have different camera configuration data.

Exactly Redmagejoe, unfortunately I tried to fix the camera issue too, but it is indeed embedded into the new model data, all taxi models get impacted when I convert them back to vanilla, so it appears a bit up and a bit left compared to the old models. It can't be fixed via DBC editing.

********** BIG ANNOUNCEMENT **********

With the amazingly tireless work of Astricon, a tiny bit of finagling of my own (including moving to a GitHub development pipeline for myself, Astricon, and any future contributors), and huge help from the Turtle WoW Client Dev team aiding both of us, Turtle HD v1.17.0-1.0 is ready for launch! The new HD patch is fully compatible with all changes to Spell.DBC, ItemDisplayInfo.DBC, and several other client DB changes coming to a Turtle WoW near you on October 3rd!

The link in the first post will NOT be updated until patch day, to avoid potential game breaking with v1.16.5 and the potential for spoilers / access to new areas. I have been informed that the Turtle WoW patcher WILL delete any custom MPQs you have in your data folder, so you will need to reinstall patch-A.MPQ and patch-B.MPQ AFTER you have updated to the latest version of Turtle via the in-game patch process.

I am excited to share all the new updates with you, but just a few worth mention are: Updated Druid spell effects and sounds, updated Warrior spell effects and sounds, a number of model and texture fixes... More fixes and updated spell effects to come in the future! Stay tuned!

yes just go into the patch-a mpq, find the relevant model, and delete it. should default to the original model

Hello joe! I am a new player from Taiwan
Sorry, my English is not very good. But I want to sincerely thank the Turtle HD team for their efforts.
I was really moved to see such a beautiful World of Warcraft.
If my understanding is correct, will HD Turle support Chinese clients ?
If so then I would be really happy <3 It's like a dream come true.
