Hi, something's wrong in Stranglethorn sad_turtle
https://ibb.co/vwF1x1h
That is a graphics, probably AMD Graphics Card, problem, not a mod problem. There is nothing that I or anyone can do with client files to fix that.

You are using an outdated version of the patch, or have not deleted your WDB folder in a long time. It is fully functional on the current version of the patch.

Edit: That said, I've added several patches so I'm not sure where the issue originates from... I'm trying to revert to the original version but I'm uncertain which patch.mpq files are default.

Could someone tell me which ones to keep/delete?
(I believe I've already deleted the Turtle HD ones)

Patch-Z is the old fix, if you didn't download something other ... so you can delete it.
Patch-F is maybe "a little extra" and patch-W I have no idea.

People reported the same behavior a week or 2 ago. This mount is displaying correctly in HD Project.

Uninstalling "WotLK feral forms" mod fixed the issue.

As always, you can check WDB folder. You can also try vanilla fixes dxvk version.

Displays normal on my end.

Saw it again in SW, on high elf female. I'm also high elf. I think that's the problem.

High Elves and helmets can be sometimes sketchy, yeah. We're looking into it.

Hello. You can try fiddling with Vertex Animation Shaders option, weather options. Also you can try Vanilla Fixes dxvk version.

I am currently working on reverting Wyverns to their vanilla models other than those you ride as a Horde and the ones at the flightmasters, and will try to address a few other lingering issues for the next version of the HD patch.

The color of the innermost chair in the Stormwind bank hall is Yellow in the day but becomes blue in the night.

First rule of white textures is: exit game normally, don't try Alt+f4, delete as usual WDB folder, reload game. Killing the game, it might continue keeping unloaded models in the memory, while exit the game it will unload the memory.

Well, usually by exit the game normally or just using the command

Code: Select all

/run ReloadUI()
fix the issue.
The only thing that I can suggest now is to try the LAA https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/thre ... re.112556/ modification in order to give more space into the game to load up better.

Working on this Murloc issue. I believe I narrowed down the problem.

Funny enough, the issue is usually vanilla textures wrapping around HD models. In this case, it appears to be HD textures attempting to wrap around vanilla / Turtle models.

EDIT: Success on test patch. I would not recommend getting the latest patch-Z, which I use for testing, as this is not game-breaking. Please wait for the next version of patch-A, when I push test branch fixes over to main branch.

Well, a whole different issue this appeared to be, giving a similar error as the original one. Glad you managed to track it down, Red.

With "Runeblade of Baron Rivendare" having an unique texture for this graphic overhaul, is there anyway to change how other items look on our own?

Could someone (who hasn't installed the packs) take a screenshot of the Data directory or list the default .mpq files?

Sometimes my game is lagging and I want to figure out if it's due to Turtle HD (and other packs) or not, but I don't know which .mpq files were added... so I can't revert to the original configuration.

PS: Also, in my opinion, Turtle HD could include this information somewhere.

Here.
It probably would not help with lag reducing though. You should look into things like VanillaFixes, hardware cursor acceleration toggled on, Vertex Animation Shaders, weather settings, WDB folder etc. General topic in Discord probably can be more helpful and speedier than a forum for things like this.

Thanks! So, I reset everything... and the game is

1/ Less pretty :(
2/ Smoother :)

Even with all graphics settings maxed out, I don't have the fps drops and micro-freezes that were driving me crazy in PvP until recently.

I'd really like to reinstall the patches, but I'm going to do it one by one to figure out which file is causing the problem

----
edit:
Turns out I celebrated too soon, there are still some micro-freezes... but a bit fewer.

Still, I know that the problem is with my computer, not the patches.

Right. First things first, delete WDB folder. Then, perhaps things might get clearer.

Is your graphics card working properly? Are the graphics drivers updated? Have you tried running the old client with the -opengl tag? If none of this helps, try Vanillatweaks with DXVK enabled.
