Windows Security

Post by Bloodyjudas » Mon Dec 11, 2023 10:13 am

Hi all,

I was hoping to get some help with either TWoW or Windows 11 in general.

Windows 11 security keeps triggering for Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml and/or Trojan:Win32/ScarletFlash.A. I know they are not real Trojans, Windows 11 is being overzealous.

However, it deletes the WoW.exe and kills TWoW. Sometimes within minutes of logging in. Sometimes it can be 90 mins of playing and mid instance etc. No matter how many times i tell Windows 11 to ignore it, list it as safe etc it still does it. I have to go back to the official TWoW download, and copy the WoW.exe back.

I dare not play my HC toon any more.

Anyone know how i can work around this?

Iirc, you can add it to a white list in Windows defender settings.

Dealing with overzealous security alerts can be a real pain, right? I once had a similar issue with my antivirus software constantly flagging harmless files. It was driving me nuts! Have you tried adding an exception for TWoW in Windows 11's security settings? Sometimes that does the trick. Oh, and if you ever decide to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro, I recently found a Windows 11 Pro key online that might come in handy.
