Scarlet Crusade Insignia question

Hello.
Looking for some clarification from staff on how Scarlet Crusade Insignia is working, because I get different opinions from different people.

Some people suggest that once a player has the insignia, should he attack any of the scarlet crusade npcs, the ring will lose it's power and become useless.
Other people say that it simply works like a trigger - put it on and Scarlet Crusade NPCs are friendly.

Could someone from the staff comment on how it really works? Should I avoid fighting ANY scarlets if I want to keep workable ring?

This is not how it works.

Just got the Scarlet Crusade Insignia but not sure what the purpose is of it.
It sits in my keyring but I can not use or equip it.

Different item. The insignia you are talking about is for a raid that hasn’t released yet. The insignia the OP is talking about no longer exists and was removed from the game.
