Re: make begging for gold against the rules
You can setup WiM addon, he has option to ignore whisper of player below 10 lvl. Spam will reduced in several times.

GMs answer soon: "Let me guess... someone stole your sweetroll."
I used to play eagerly here.
Re: make begging for gold against the rules
Better: allow the sending of negative gold.
Re: make begging for gold against the rules
Well if getting gold wasnt such a struggle at the lower levels people wouldnt have to beg.
You might get lucky and find a green item that you can sell at lvl 10-19 for like 5 silver or some bullshit like that.
Like you get rank 2 and can buy your first trinket, (EXCITING!) but it costs 1g 50s, like wtf.
Same with wsg friendly rep trinket (lvl 20) it was like 2 g.
Can't even buy all your new skills, how fun is that?
And forget buying gear from AH.
And no, this is not vanilla. This is vanilla+, shouldnt have to suffer this much for the basics.

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
Being short on gold gives it value. Wotlk ruined it with 10g seasonal quests at lvl 10...
Re: make begging for gold against the rules
The one thing I agree is that gold begging adds to RP immersion in which the flood of retail migrants come and ask for gold and stand in cities for hours

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
This reminds me, I was in Orgrimmar earlier today and this undead hunter named Saltypete gave me 10g! He's such a nice guy. I bet if you ever see him in Orgrimmar and ask him for gold, he'll give you 10g too!
Re: make begging for gold against the rules
But yeah all jokes aside... the goldbegging really does take ya back to 2006. And thats kinda based ngl.
And i do have my personal fun with these kids by simply responding to any goldbegging with "Reported". Ofc I don't actually report them, but Its hilarious watching them freak out. OP try having some fun like this, it really turns it into a fun pastime.

Why shouldn't you? Do you want instant gratification for being lucky or because you've your finger clicked a bit more buttons than usual?Annoying wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 9:43 pmWell if getting gold wasnt such a struggle at the lower levels people wouldnt have to beg.

You just go out and earn gold even with your bare fists, which is possible.

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
Just ignore them. There's no need to give GMs extra work to sort out.

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
I've noticed that there is a simple correlation in gameplay style between people who have gold when they need it and who don't.
I have never had issues with gold in any of the iterations of vanilla WoW I have played since 2005. I also do not focus on leveling, and simply gain levels by consequence as I follow quests or work on professions or whatever little goal I have set for myself in the game that day. I don't know how many days I have on /played when I reach 60, and I don't really care.
Meanwhile, there are people who gain levels rapidly and who will insist upon reading this post that they are not speedrunning, yet when observed can clearly be seen to be playing the game in such a way that they are either in a hurry to level up or not bothering with half the quests in a zone because they are not considered optimal or the player finds them boring. In other words, they are not enjoying the core experience of the game and will rationalize that they're just doing it to try to get a higher level faster. These are generally the people who don't ever have enough money.

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
People just level to god damn quick. With people activating warmode to gain a pve exp boost & permanent rested exp with tents, ofc people are even more goldstarved than usual.
That being said they got themselves into it because they use warmode for pve reasons, now they get to experience the consequences.
I dont think gold needs to be made significantly easier to come accross. The game already suffers from inflation.

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
The hell you talking about?
My point was that even if you're lucky you get basically nothing the first levels.
Selling a green item for 5 silver when a skill costs 30 silver.
pvp trinkets 1g, 50s, and 2g.

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
i really don't like all this gold begging as well. But I always differ if it's "begging" or "asking".
"Begging" i just ignore every time.
But sometimes there's someone who is asking very nicely and politely.. and sometimes even in a Roleplayin' way for some help. Then, sometimes, I'm more willing to help.
As for me: I always came out with my gold without any begging. Seriously there are so many quests that give you some money or items that you can sell.. :D
If you've taken Enchanting as a profession first: Well.. kinda your own fault. Enchanting is a expensive profession and you're literally vaporizing money.

Literally nobody has issues with buying skills unless you buy every available spell and spend lots of gold on useless things. Name checks out btw

Re: make begging for gold against the rules
I hear complaints all the time in world/guild chat + just experienced it myself leveling my first char here. This thread exist because literally nobody has any issues buying spells during the early levels.Aykhanchik wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 1:53 pmLiterally nobody has issues with buying skills unless you buy every available spell and spend lots of gold on useless things. Re: make begging for gold against the rules
Well if you just speedlevel with warmode and rested bonus while not taking the time to get some extra cash on the side ofc its a problem.
But as harsh as it sounds, what did you expect?
