As funny as this is, a lot of noobs to 1.12 will come here, try macros that work on retail and classic, and include a #showtooltip in the command, and all this does is spam the absolute crap out of worldchat, newcomers, and still alive chat and oh man does it happen so often these days with the high pop.
I know the devs have some chat filtering set up, so I'd suggest adding this to the filter, only when the start of the line has this, so people can mention #showtooltip later in a sentence and that would still work.
Chat filter out noobs doing #showtooltip

Re: Chat filter out noobs doing #showtooltip
I think blocking messages that repeat previous one will be enough.
Xudo - tauren warrior 19 Sergeant. Consumed by real life.
No 60 lvl character.
Applying enchant to item should increase required level
Add lvl requirement to bandages
Rework low level recipes
Have fun not only at 60.

+1 to OP
Blocking repeats is not required. Many ppl go LFM multiple times to be seen in GCHAT since it goes very fast at peak times.

I agree with with spamm block.
If you sent a message starting with #showtooltip then just suppressing it would be great
Filterung out spawm of same message inside the window of 2s in same channel would be good, but it's too CPU intensive and will cause server lagg
