Questions about hardcore mode?

After I reach 60 in HC mode and die in open world PvE, does that brick my character? Turtle wow says I can partipate in raiding and PvP, it does not say anything about open world PvE mobs.

The Hardcore Challenge ends once you reach level 60. You can die to mobs safely.

However it has been announced that optional permanent hardcore mode at level 60 will come in patch 1.16.6.

If you think about taking that option, you should stay 59 until it releases as you won’t be able to get back to HC mode if you ding 60 now.
