Feral Druid Changes Wishlist for 1.16. 6

Post by Jammyxx » Mon Jan 23, 2023 8:43 am

The Class updates for the druid were great however I feel feral is still lacking abit and could do with additional tweaks.

Talents:

Furror:
If we made this 60 Energy and 15 Rage, we could also remove the requirement for the Bis helm Wolf's head. Also changing the stats on this helm so the new talent doesn't work with it. - This would help Ferals DPS by enabling them to use a proper DPS helm and not stuck with a level 40 rare in Naxx content.

Brutal Impact:
This is very lacklustre talent as it is. 1 sec increased stun for 2 talent points? I feel like this should also reduce the rage/energy cost or reduce the cool down by 5/10 sec.

Thick Hide:
The reduction in talent points was very helpful however this still doesn't add that much Armor really for a Dire Bear with 10k+ Armor. Maybe add Defense increase to this aswel 5/10/15 or bump it to 10/20/30%

Feral Instinct:
Great that the talent requirement was reduced but could do with maybe movement increase in stealth added like the rogue has on his talents.

Feline Swiftness:
Amazing talent for 2 points, but does nothing for Bear.
Add the dodge bonus to effect bear like in TBC change name to Feral Swiftness, will help bear tanks.

Predatory Strikes:
Flat 90 AP at level 60. Does not scale - I purpose to change this to a flat 5/10/15% AP Increase while in Cat or Bear, would help ferals scale alot better. "Of your level" just seems weird

Improved Shred:
Maybe add 5/10% Crit in addition to the energy reduction. Rogues get 30% Crit on their Backstab talent.

Blood Frenzy:
Increase the attack speed to 25%/50% - What I purpose with this is to use this talent as a replacement for the Crowd Pummeler and do not let them stack. This would make ferals have the same effect, but be able to use a better weapon and not have to farm a level 35 instance hundreds of times to do viable raid DPS.

Leader of the Pack:
Could we get 5% Crit on this instead of 3%.
Seems very lacklustre for the bottom talent in feral.
5% would definitely make raids want to bring a feral.

Mechanics:
Can we get weapon Procs on our "Stat Sticks' to apply to feral forms, seems like a huge restriction on a class that already struggles with DPS. And would go along way if we could receive Windfury on our weps. I was DPSing in a dungeon yesterday and all the melee had Windfury and I felt left out as a feral kitty.

Tauren Plains running.
It seems moonkin can use plains running, so I suggest letting cat form and bear form also be able to use it.

Spells:

Rip:
Add a movement reducing effect to this, would make it worth using over ferocious bite in pvp, and druids have no slows. Enemy cats in the game who use rip on you have a slow baked in to their rip skill why can't us druid cats?

Rake:
Useless, damage is laughable, either buff damage or make it so rake increases bleed effect damage. Just pointless as it is currently.

Pounce:
Increase combo points awarded to 2, increase bleed damage.

Ferocious Bite:
Remove the drains remaining energy and slightly increase damage.

Swipe:
Slightly increase damage and increase targets to 3>5.

Barkskin:
Borderline useless, If this could be used in Bear Form and Cat Form and while stunned it would be amazing for cats getting stun locked in pvp, and would help bears tanking to reduce incoming damage.

Nature's Grasp:
Make avaliable to use in forms, would help when you pull an extra mob in cat form for a quick CC, instead of having to go back to caster and get interrupted castings roots.

Items:

Wolf's head Helm:
Mentioned above, remove bonus add to furror talent.
Restat this helm. Having to use a level 40 rare at level 60 is just crazy and I'm sure Blizzard didn't intend this.

Idols:
I think stats should be added to these and some lower level ones should be awarded from the various Druid class quests also.

Idol of the Bear:
Increases your Stamina in Bear Form by 5%

Idol of the Cat:
Increases your agility in Cat form by 5%

Idol of the Sealion
Increases Swim speed by 15%

Idol of the Cheetah:
Reduces the mana cost of Travel Form by 50%

Idol of the Dire Bear:
Increases Strength and Stamina by 5% while in Dire Bear Form

Idol of the Moonkin:
Increases Spell Damage in moonkin form by 10%

Also add a few extra high level Idols:

Idol of Shredding:
Rduces energy cos of shred by 6.

Idol of Savage Bite:
Increases damage of Savage Bite by 10%

Idol of Feral Charge:
Rduces the cooldown of Feral Charge by 5 sec.

I think these changes will go along way to helping feral druids, let me know if you would change anything else.

Thanks

Furor is already a potent talent as is. The fact that you are willin to sacrifice an equipment slot exclusively for half its bonus is prove of that. Loading more of ferals power in this talent is imho a bad idea. I've seen the idea thrown around that this effect could be a headenchant and i think thats the better way to solve it. Adding even more power to this one talent gets absurd for levels where you should not have access to that much energy yet. Remember, druid is insanely good while leveling as is.

Energy cost reduction for Pounce is probably fair. Stun cooldown reduction i see as potentially problematic in terms of pvp. Since its a direct buf to flagcarrier druid.

Thick hide is indeed a talent that is situational at best, but Armor gets better the more you have. Thanks to some additional items with extra armor a 30% armor increase would basically catapult any bear to armorcap. Way too good. Maybe add 3% dodge for bear instead?

Feline Swiftness is also improving your movementspeed while stealthed - you sneak as fast as rogues. At least outside that is.

I don't think the talent is meant to improve bear. Its feline swiftness. I'd rather add the dodge to Thick Hide if the aim is to buff bear. And if the aim is to buff this talent. Let it apply indoors instead.

Generally not a problem for PvE but Ravage is a thing, Its already the hardest hitting opener in the game. Adding about 15% more damage gets nutty against casters. I'd say its probably not a big enough problem to not go ahead with the change tho.

Feral has many problems - Shred being weak is not one of them. Don't forget you have more energy than rogues and your shread costs 2/3 of what their Backstab costs.

On its own, maybe, but you propose it at the same time as improvements to the Attackpower of druid. Switching weapons is a downgrade, but lategame druid weapons can be as much as 25-30% of your total attackpower. This change should absolutely not happen at the same time asPredatory Strikes changes. Given Pred. Strikes blows more, i'd rather rectify that talent instead.

The last thing wow needs is more melee steroids. Leader of the Pack is a good raidtalent every melee wants already.

You propse 50% attackspeed "passively" with the ability to wear weapons with massive procs. Stuff like https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=17 ... demolisher would totally escalate. It should be either or, Procs or MCP style attackspeed. Having both is laughable on the face of it. And ofc, if we have procs they need to be normalized to cats 1.0 attackspeed

How to make feral even more unkillable in PvP against other melees: the post.
It's not like they already destroy those with zero effort thanks to custom buffs or anything.
