[bugged rogue] big big big BIG problem!

Hello hello,

I'm new to this server and I alredy see a biiiig problem (earth is about to crumble under my feets). Rogue are beeing detected by mobs (that even more when of the same level and above ) in stealth mode.

No need to mention the little problems that comes up with that.

I'm pretty sure its a really easy problem to fix, smt like the treat level in stealth mode or IDK....

Man its just bugged. No hard to figure out. And no hard to fix, I'm pretty sure of it too. Why would one need to prove it with a video, when its so easy to see it by yourself in the game? ^^

thanks for your quick reply. No difference for me tho. Still beeing detected miles away unless I keep walking exactly behind the target the whole time :/

Can't reproduce, working just fine. Waiting for videoproof. Walking in front of the creature is putting it in 'alarm' mode which is getting your chances to get noticed much higher, it's normal behavior.

It is, however some mobs ignore this rule and give no alarm state for a player to catch on his mistake.

Ok, wha I've found so far is a bunch of an aweful quality old vids with rogues near mobs and approximately figured out that with no Master of Deception (here and later on MoD) stealth detection from mobs should be lowered at least for 50%. With MoD I'd guess up to 80% (fully invested).

That's only a guess since there's not much text value as a proof to show you, and quality of the video is just as awefull as you'd never had a chance to screw it intentionally… 2005 bois. wary_turtle

Believe it or not - up to you. I'd suggest to make a poll and perhaps pin one in discord and main page forums or announcements, dunno. scared_turtle

That's all I had for now. Will continue to watch through a tones of the vids with rogues from '05 - '07 years, but that's just not very informative whatsoever. Close to give up on that… sad_turtle

My gut feeling is that stealth level may be 1 level off. I've noticed it as well in kitty form that mobs see you extremely easy if you're in front of them. In my recollection I could stealth a bit better than this. Really have a hard time stealthing past stuff.
Could be as simple mobs seeing you as if you were 1 stealth level lower.

I can say that the stealth detection of creatures is very high atleast in my opinion. I put 2 points in "Master of Deception" and that should give me like 2-3 levels of stealth (currently i'm 52 so with those points my stealth should be like 54-55 of a rogue). But even with that the creatures can notice le so easy even if i'm not in front of them.

My rogue is lvl 38, so far stealth works fine for me. I don't have any points in MoD (MoD gives +3 stealthpoints per point for a total of 15 stealthpoints which equals 3 levels) and I'm getting detected by mobs that are at least green when I'm approaching them from the front. 180° behind them works fine, they never see me coming unless they're red+.

Main issue is the mobs' stealth detection from the front and long before you get any talents invested into MoD. wary_turtle

I would say it doesn't work properly at all. I have 5 points in Master of Deception and I still get detected by everything even things that should never see me, like grey and green mobs. This makes being a rogue on this server unplayable in my opinion.

I played a rogue on original wow and the first two expansions and I was never once detected by green or grey mobs ever! Yellow mobs never saw me either unless I ran into them a couple times. I was able to stealth through entire zones and dungeons without being detected with 5 points in Master of Deception. Please realize that it does NOT work correctly.

This problem is persistent on all other private servers as well except for Kronos where it works properly. I hope it gets fixed.

Kronos just nerfed the detection to the ground and you won't get detected even standing right infront of the mob of your level in 2 yard range with no MoD at all.

They made the alertness close to original however, on this I agree. Overall though, you're completely correct. We need the fix.

Worth mentioning that on lower levels where everything you have is pretty much only stealth skill available and nothing else to aid your progression, equal level mobs will detect you halfway toward them from the front and slightly less from their side. Heck, even neutral mobs detect you with growling toward you, even though they should ignore stealth whatsoever.

Ok. S'more experiments proved stealth detection of mobs is higher than usual for 5-6 levels.

I tried this one for now without MoD talent. Grey mobs are still as broken as they were. I mean, I didn't try some tricky caves yet, just noted that grey level mobs are more perceptive when I stealth near them as they were before. Also, as much as it gets, neutral mobs react to me stealthing nearby even still! They should ignore stealthed units whatsoever.

Druid cat form prowling doesn't seem affected, as far as I've seen. Not sure if this is helpful or not.
