Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Missing NPCs.

Post by Skullmiser » Fri May 17, 2019 2:32 am

I got a couple of quests from NPCs in Forest Song a bit ago, and I completed them today, and went back to turn them in.... and they aren't there anymore.

I ran around the area a bit, until another player showed up, and explained to me that he had the same problem, and also looked for them yesterday.

I brought over another character to see if for some reason we just couldn't see them after completion, but no... They're just gone now. We couldn't find Illiyana, or Sentinel Melyria Frostshadow.

Looking in the comments of these characters on various websites Sherlock Holmes found that at some point, they had moved from the Shrine of Aessina to Forest Song, where quests presently report they are(Return to them in Forest Song). he deduced that the Shrine of Aessina was where they were most likely to be found.

Actually, the comments I read said that the shrine is where they used to be prior to The Burning Crusade, so maybe this is where they were always meant to be. The location just doesn't match the quest text at all, and the move was bizarre.

Yes, both NPCs should be located at the Shrine of Aessina in Vanilla, according to https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Illiyana and https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Melyria_Frostshadow. Quest objectives of quests 1032, 1022 and 1031 have been updated to reflect the correct location. The update will be deployed soon.

Thanks for reporting it!
