Is the server down or having maintenance done? I noticed I can't log in at all today.

I got the update, installed it and it asked me to restart the app. After that, it does not work. Is the patch live now, or is only bugged to me?

I had the same error after downloading and restarting.

It was my anti-virus blocking the update, so I uninstalled my anti-virus, restarted my computer, started Turtle-Wow, restarted to update, and the update went through.

However now the server is actually down because I can't get the character list.

well, I tried disabling windows security, but I still cannot access the game. It just fills the update bar and exits the app

Had the same issue so this is what I did:
Disabled: Firewalls/virus protection
Went to my TWoW Folder and enabled the following files modify/write for all group usernames: WoW.exe, TWPatcher.exe, Discordoverlay.dll, and some of the patch.mpqs.
Did the whole login/download nonsense again, finally automatically went to TWPatcher and failed.
Went to the patcher directly, "already updated".
Logged back into WoW and it worked.

You could also just do a fresh install of the client from the main site.

Well, after the update the server was up for a few hours from around 9 pm - 12 am EST. A few restarts/crashes the first hour it was up, then stable for awhile.

But it has been down for the past 2 hours afaik. I check every 30 minutes or so to take a look at my auctions, and last time I was able to log on was about 2 hours ago. Now it just gets stuck on "Connecting" after Success, shows me the turtle wow server list and gets stuck on Connected.

So yes, the server is down or not working properly right now.

Patch 1.16.1 has pretty much been a disaster since it rolled out a few hours ago. And the best part is the lack of communication from Turtle Team. You'll note that there's been no attempt to explain the situation, no updates on what's going on, no ETAs on when things will get back to normal, and absolutely no response from anyone official since 7:29 PM EDT. As least Blizzard would occasionally throw the community a bone when their servers were broken.

Well, if they would just post on their own bloody forums…? Or, you know, maybe they could update that Breaking News box that appears every time you boot up the game? You know? Use it for what it's intended for instead of reminding people to turn off their anti-virus software to ensure uninterrupted gameplay?

I'd recommend you night owls go to bed early and you EU players find something else.
"ETA: As soon as possible" feels like it may as well be just plain "ETA: Soon™", at this point.
