In light of recent changes made to the Server Rules regarding challenges, I believe it would be wise to either implement a means by which one can disable Challenges without need of GM Assistance - or better yet, reintroduce Glyph Vendors to starting zones. The changes make sense and I agree with them to a degree - the challenges don't live up to their name if you can simply bring along a max level character on another account to breeze through them, after all - but the suddenness of the change and its consequences are far from ideal.
Myself and others - or so I imagine - use challenges more as additional modifiers to their characters rather than the crux of the existence of those characters. Would it not be wise to reintroduce a means by which to disable these challenges in light of the changes to Server Rules? If nothing else, it would probably lighten the load a bit on GMs as they don't have to take the time out of their day removing the challenges from characters.
Regarding Slow & Steady in particular, I have personally played with it almost exclusively since its introduction, simply due to the change in levelling rates. What I like about Turtle WoW is the new content to existing zones and altogether new zones during levelling. However, I also like 'twinking out' my characters, so to speak, running through the same levelling dungeons often just to get the best possible gear for that level, so as to sort of revel in the slower levelling and getting to really invest a lot of time into the new content. However, with the new rules, I would have my characters locked in doing so.
Would it be possible to, using the existing .xpmode command found on Tel'Abim to enable the reduced levelling rate + death penalty of Slow & Steady without the challenge itself? This would allow Slow & Steady to be maintained as a challenge, while not allowing the challenge to be trivialized, as is what I assume to be the new enforced ideology regarding challenges.

Re: Regarding Challenges and Slow & Steady
Yes please I've been campaigning for return of glyph vendor ever since GMs are refusing to disable level one lunatic challenges. Challenges themselves say we keep the titles after completing them however without disabling the challenge we are unable to level up the characters. It's been like this ever since kara40 came out and nothing was done as of today.
I fully support return of glyph vendors

Re: Regarding Challenges and Slow & Steady
Yeah I preferred the Glyph vendor 100%. Idc about challenge rewards, I would honestly like the option to be able to enable/disable the challenge modifiers at will. Mainly I would like to slow down exp but not until like level 15-20 because the game is boring before then.
I would also love to play over on Tel'Abim but that 2x/4x(with tent) leveling rate ruins the game, and even the .xpmode command only affects mob kills, quest exp is still jacked up to high heaven. Idk why they didn't just make T'A "Nordanaar with PvP on", but that's a different topic.

Re: Regarding Challenges and Slow & Steady
The idea behind Tel'Abim was to satisfy the fresh crowd in the shortterm and please world PvPers / crossfaction dislikers in the longterm, the exp rates are in place to help people that just want to switch there from Nord to get an easier start and possibly to bridge otherwise toxic lvling bottlenecks that come with World PvP being enabledGcrallo wrote: Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:04 pm Yeah I preferred the Glyph vendor 100%. Re: Regarding Challenges and Slow & Steady
Hello, I'm having problems finding how to activate the slow and steady mode. Is it disabled?
