Re: Alternative Tier Sets & Midpatch Itemization Changes
Good evening. I have 3 tokens of tier 2.5. If I exchange them to tier 2.5 armor pieces now, will I be able to trade these pieces for alternative tier 2.5 versions in the future or will I need tokens for exchange?

Very first post anwsers your question if you just read itElisleris wrote: Mon Sep 23, 2024 8:46 pm Good evening. I have 3 tokens of tier 2.5. Re: Alternative Tier Sets
So looking into this last update that was done Im not sure when.
Does this mean for example no Elemental tier3 set for shamen? No enhancement set whatsoever for dps (only 2.5 for tanking)?

Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Greetings! Could you please clarify whether or not each hybrid specialization is receiving a separate set starting from T1 and through T3.5. The way it's now put in your original post can be interpreted in different ways, for druids for example:Dragunovi wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 10:51 pm
- Druid: Feral Combat (Tier 1, 2.5 and 3.5 are Cat Form DPS focused while Tier 2 and 3 are Bear Form Tanking focused), Balance (Legacy Tier 2.5 is the new Balance set while there is a new Restoration set for Tier 2.5), Restoration (Tier 2.5 Only)
T1: Balance(legacy) + Feral DPS
T2: Restoration(legacy) + Feral Tank
T2.5: Balance(legacy reworked) + Feral DPS + Restoration
T3: Restoration(legacy) + Feral Tank
T3.5: Feral DPS
Could you please comment on this specific example, is my logic correct, or am I completely wrong and there will be for example T3 and T3.5 for Balance?

- Shaman: Enhancement (Tier 2.5 is specialized for tanking builds), Elemental (Legacy Tier 2 and 2.5 are the new Elemental sets while there are new Restoration sets for Tier 2 and 2.5.
- Paladin: Retribution, Protection, Holy (Tier 2.5 now has a new item set while Tier 1 and 2 have been re-itemized to work better for Holy Paladins as the specializations using them previously now have new alternative tier sets.)

Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Feral cat doesn't need t2.5 because AQ40 already has a ton of feral gear currently. What cat needs is some decent t3 items, cause Naxx for cat only has 4 items - trinket, ring, weapon, leggings.Dragunovi wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 10:51 pm

Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Hope the Affliction set will benefit SM Ruin (30-0-21) build, cause either Fire Destruction (0-11-40) or Affliction (40-11-0) build will use Shadow Bolt and provide 15% shadow damage bonus from Improved Shadow Bolt.Dragunovi wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 10:51 pmThe following specializations will get new alternative tier sets:
- Legacy Warlock and Hunter sets have had their set bonuses updated to accomodate for Fire Destruction and Survival specializations and their abilities.
- Warlock: Affliction
Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Does this mean that there is no alternative 3.0 balance set? They reworked the legacy 2.5 for balance, and that's it? It's a mediocre 5 piece set, and we have to mix 'n' match after that?
Re: Alternative Tier Sets
That means you will have new alt T1 + T2 + T3 and old legacy T2.5 for Balance specDalijon wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 3:52 pm Does this mean that there is no alternative 3.0 balance set? Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Where do you swap pieces. They were kind and assumed I wanted the healing set because I was currently speccd healer?but I don't want the healing gear...
Re: Alternative Tier Sets
You can exchange t1&t2 tokens at the blackrock.
Those alt versions of T1, T2 as well as the
T2.5 & T3 pieces are quest rewards. Like other questrewards, they can now be swapped at a npc in Ratchet.
Do beware, the Ratchet NPC is ruthless and will rip them off of your character without a second confirmation - replacing a potentially enchanted piece of gear with a new unenchanted one.
Also T1 &T2 tokens can not be turned back into their original form once traded. You will have to farm the original piece again

Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Does this swap support also apply to tier 0.5? Possibly through the quest reward swapper?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Not yet, but do all these sets has any part with 10-20+ intelligence and without stam as melee dps? Feral druid yes
Re: Alternative Tier Sets
Yes, T2 and T3 tier sets for Pala have parts with 20+ intellect and without stamina as melee dps.Jaffcover wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2025 6:24 amNot yet, but do all these sets has any part with 10-20+ intelligence and without stam as melee dps? Feral druid yes

Re: Alternative Tier Sets
T1 and t2 is done in the middle of Black Rock a Mountain near the tomb on your way down to MC/Brd.
T2.5 and up is done at feid rota in rachet.
*Note* changing gear will wipe any enchants off. Also t1 and t2 may only be swapped one time. T2.5± is indefinite. Don't ask anyone why this is the case. None of us know lol
