Mage / High elf [Necessary?]

Hey guys, kind of a quick question.

I don't want to play High elf but due to the racial "Quel'dorei Meditation" i kiiiinda feel like its a huge advantage/necessity in both PvE and PvP.

To be honest i don't need no "Play whatever you feel like playing", "Just enjoy" and stuff like that.

My question is: Will i ever feel disadvantaged for not choosing a High elf as my Mage?

I consider the situations like boss fights oom, PvP oom problems, things like this.

Nope, not at all. The racial helps just a teeny tiny bit, and while using e.g. arcane power, its not gonna make a huge difference, just squeezes out a tiny bit more mana if you're all out.

I'd actually recommend orc, their racial works great with mage xD
