Turtle WoW Launcher
Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
Noticed that when changing zones, players get as if loaded into the zone. you cannot see other players in a neighbouring zone. there's a fade-in / fade-out effect between changes.
Nodes seem to be affected as well. Almost as if it's instanciated.
What's up with that?

Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
Starting zones are probably on a different server machine compared to other world. Capitals are on the other servers too. It helps to balance the load.

Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
Hello, my beloved Twow!
I used the launcher with no issues until today's update. When I started the launcher, it prompted me to select language and region, etc and I got the message ''Current location is unsupported! You can change it by moving the launcher to a different folder.''
Well, I did move it from downloads to program files on the local disc and I still get the same message and won't let me continue with the launcher setup.
Any advice on how to solve this issue?
Thanks,
Love Pape!

Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
Wait a minute, what did you put on my C drive? My Twow was somewhere else, but when I updated, the space on my C drive disappeared! I hope the launcher doesn't use my C drive as a cache, because many people don't have more than 3gb of redundant space on their C drives.

Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
I still playing from WoW.exe. If I run Launcher sets window mode automatically, and my fps drops down when I don't play full screen. An option to use launcher full sized is possible?
Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
Let me start by saying that Windows 10 runs smoothly on any PC hardware built after 2008. Even older processors like the Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad are capable of handling Windows 10.
You can use the following API extension https://github.com/i486/VxKex if you are still using Windows 7 and want to take advantage of the optional launcher.
Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
I've reported this bug too before. The Launcher resets the video settings every time you log into the game and some of us reported the reset effects some sound settings too.

Assuming you are using a windows operating system, WIN+X, Y, advanced system settings, advanced tab > environment variables, change the TEMP path to where you want the system to store temporary files.Gattare wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 3:59 am Wait a minute, what did you put on my C drive? if this doesnt work for you, google how to change it for your specific operating system.

Same! I don't quite understand this, i thought these things came with the launcher...Barrghbossa wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 10:41 pm The launcher tutorial video shows DXVK, VanillaFixes, and Nampower in the "Mods" menu, but I do not see those in the current version 1.2.3; all that I see is the couple of .mpq Custom Patches I have. I have DXVK/VanillaFixes/Nampower manually installed but I'm not sure why they don't show up here. Is this intended behavior?

Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
You have to be more specific. What do you mean by game file? Where you want to move it and why?Azguardian0547 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 8:53 pm hello there, looking to get into Turtle wow for the very first time, just heard about it a week ago. im getting stuck because i cant move the game file ? how do i do this ? someone please help me

Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
my mods dont appear in the launcher tab. Are they still enabled, even if they don't show up here?
I have them saved in the Data directory as .mpq

Re: Turtle WoW Launcher
The launcher consistently gives me problems. First launch it reset some of my addon configs, it ALWAYS resets my config.WTF file and keeps me permanently in 800x600 and does NOT appear to have mods such as Vanillafixes included. The game runs and looks better when I use the Vanillafixes exe and my other mods load correctly, unlike with using the launcher. The only benefit I have to using the launcher is updating addons automatically, half of which claim that I don't have a .toc file to update anyways, at least it tells me which ones are out of date. Stop making it reset my resolution and add the mods that are supposed to be supported into it and then maybe I might use it.
