Warlock leveling tips
Re: Warlock leveling tips
Demonology Tire4 / Nether studies , unholy power as option. then goes to Affliction.
Nothing changed in 117.2 in lvling aspect
use only Voidwlker
no other tips

Re: Warlock leveling tips
Aim for nether studies and take anything you want.
This talent is important because it allows your void to keep agro pretty well.
If you want pvp during lvling or very tanky void for chill gameplay go full demo (right after 5/5 corruption)
also i suggest to pick improved stones since felstone works with wand hits thats free healing = free mana = no drinking, improved lifetap allows to transfer gained health into mana with a profit
Re: Warlock leveling tips
Can u advice what are the primary dmg spells i should focus on buying/training? Currently im using shadow bolt and corruption but idk if that's optimal. Im completely new to warlock, currently on lvl 20. There's too many spells to choose from and i just want to focus essentials for easy solo questing

Re: Warlock leveling tips
5/5 corruption, 5/5 suppression, 2/2 lifetap, 2/2 improved drains.. from here either demo or stay in affliction. The biggest change i have found is that drain soul is better than sb in every way as a filler and also the vw is beefier and should alway be used while leveling.
Re: Warlock leveling tips
Thank guys. I usually open with Agony, corruption, inmolation and then either wand or shadowbolt. Didnt have problem with mana yet but i guess it could be issue on higher lvl. Still not sure what stat i should prefer. Some say stamina, other say intellect.
Is there any list of voidwalker abilities? The vendor who's selling doesn't give description of them, its just the name of spell and idk which ones to buy. Or if there's any additionals.

Re: Warlock leveling tips
The most important vw ability is torment, make sure to get the new books when available and have it right-clicked so he auto uses it. If you just stay affliction all the way with no pts in demo you can get siphon life, malediction and soul siphon talents followed by shadow mastery and then can just melt everything by the time you are lvl 40 its very overpowered with the newest class changes and drain soul being overpowered. I wouldnt bother with nightfall or ever cast a shadowbolt while leveling, could save some gold and not train it. Use sl,agony, curse of shadows, corruption and either drain soul or dot up the next target.
Re: Warlock leveling tips
Warlock is an easy class to level.
Personally I don't think you need Nether Studies. This is a new talent and lock had no issues with threat on their VW even before this.
The best vanilla spec to level for warlock is called "Drain Tanking" and it assumes going deep into Affli. Personally I always do an adaptation and branch into Shadowburn and Nightfall cause i like more offense.
With the new changes and faster ticks from Affli i imagine drain tanking would be even stronger now for leveling. Dark Pact is lost but tbh i always preferred to life tap and drain life of a new mob.
If you are new to warlocks entirely i would go for something like this.
Start with affliction. prioritise imp corrution, imp drains and fel concentration.
You can play around a lot with this spec and tweak as you see fit. The differences are not too big and it boils down to preferred play style as well at the end of the day.
The general rule is Affli/Demo mixes are best for leveling, but if you know what you're doing you can easily go 11 points into destruction as well for Shadowburn.
A link to the original drain tank spec as well if you're curious: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qdUs22 ... GIh7q/view

Re: Warlock leveling tips
What's the best pvp build? Is it still affliction? I'm playing on warmode and starting to be nearing lvl 30 at mixed zones where opposing faction farm too. Im thinking of switching to a more pvp build. Currently going affliction and questing is super easy.
( had some amazing pvp moments at Battle of Hilsbrad, very fun location, i wish more people wouldn't be afraid of pvp)

Re: Warlock leveling tips
For pvp the best spec now is deep destruction, sl demo is mid and affliction is not very good.
Re: Warlock leveling tips
I'm only lvl 32 Orc warlock, 22 points into demo with 1 point into affliction (just started) but I usually start my rotation with agony, immolation, corruption, wand, sometimes shadowbolt but mostly wand then end it with drain soul which is extremely powerful to the point where I've just been using rank 1 DS because of the mana difference compared to rank 2 drain soul. I also have warmode enabled so, when im versing the opposite faction I always use rank 2 because it does a shitload of damage.funeh wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 1:50 am Thank guys.
