Hello Turtle WoW community!

I am new here and the game/server. I had a question regarding the standard graphics in the game. Is there any plans to improve the graphics in this Vanilla version of world of Warcraft? I’ve seen improvements in the graphics area in later expansions on the retail version and in other private servers. It’s not a huge thing for me but I thought I would ask.

My wife and I will be going online for the first time later tonight once we are off work. So 2 new players will be joining the turtle wow family. :) if there is an add-on for better graphics that would be nice to know too. Please just let us know. I tried searching the forum for this information prior to posting but couldn’t find anything. I apologize if this has already been answered elsewhere. I look forward to seeing all of you online!

Unfortunately no.

I could understand the need for graphics since the game is kind of outdated, alas, as you know all those mods that exist will either hinder the gameplay or make the game fail to run completely.

With the upcoming patch, graphical mods might crash the game all the time, so better stick with the standard graphics.
Besides, it's not entirely the looks that made the game popular, you know. It's the sense of community and friendly behaviour that we are trying to preserve that drives people to join the fun.

The game engine is proprietary pre-2004.
It's basically Abandonware at this point for the 1.12.x that is only kept alive by hobbyists.

Couldn't understand why so much people needie for a improved graphic.
Remember ,how many year ago camed this out.
How could even consider ,to improve?
You can do changing textures by yourself,since it is not so hard to do.
But.
People is coming play vanilla because its old.
The old magic and challenge what this is have inside,was really need to be telled?
I love wow World,espesially lich expansion.
My childhood is based on this game.
I could not spend week without bit playing wow.

You don't play old games because they are old, you play old games because the game play is in most cases superior to the games coming out now.

If something is Good is Will always have playerbase with or without the original developers.
Lich expansion is old and still the most played One all of the expansions.
