Taming the beast II Undead hunter
Re: Taming the beast II Undead hunter
I do not think it is a flaw, nor it is unique. Tauren hunters face the same problem for ~16 years now, and most of them managed to get it done. I rather look at it as nice way to show that some problems are quickly solved by some cooperation.
Re: Taming the beast II Undead hunter
It's possible to complete it with Aspect of the Monkey or get Really Sticky Glue from Sen'jin Village.
Re: Taming the beast II Undead hunter
The sleep sand you get from the vile fin quest is quite useful for this quest.

Can confirm sleep sand is the way to go.

You can tame a lesser bat (without that annoying skill); the quest somehow allows that. Not sure if it is a bug - devs?

Re: Taming the beast II Undead hunter
I would say sleep sand or the sticky glue.
Still, and I think the Tauren hunter quest in Vanilla was a concept flaw - having someone attack or hold aggro on a pet that one is TAMING is ludicrous. It needs to be about the hunter and the pet creating some type of bond. I think it's a NO GO (both the Tauren one and the new Undead one) from a standpoint of thinking it out both conceptually. The Dwarf Ice Bear one is good (Vanilla) because it will stun once, and then the hunter can take it.
It needs a rework to actually make some sense.

Re: Taming the beast II Undead hunter
Having someone else tank the pet while you tame is a bug tbh - the tooltip for Tame Pet reads that "If you lose the beast's attention for any reason, the taming process will fail," and I'm pretty sure it worked that way in classic. If someone else ripped aggro mid-cast it would interrupt, and you'd have to start from the beginning again.
But yeah, sleep sand 100% is the way to go, managed fine on my own forsaken using it :')
