Turtle HD Patch-A - NEW RELEASE!

Hello everyone. I decided to continue development of the Turtle HD patch. I'm only focusing on adding more npc models and fixing some things with playable races. I've also solved some compatability issues with the current Turtle WoW release.

There's tons of new models, such as gnolls, centaur, quilboar, horse mounts, boars, lynxes and many many more.

This is a work in progress, so I'd appreciate any feedback or bug report. I'll try and keep it updated as much as I can.

The original release is by redmagejoe. Neymey also joined development and they're in the process of incorporating everything that's missing from my first release to the next.

Other contributors to the patch:
- Atraxian: Various dragon models.

Neymey also did this Patch-B which is for environment stuff. Trees, bushes and other things. You can use it with Patch-A without problems. Here's the link:


LAST UPDATED 11/05/2025

- Many fixes related to textures and sizes. Infernals, Pterrordaxes and DF Furbolgs should have correct sizes now.
- Worgen Casters received a new HD model similar to the custom HD one.
- Tons of new models: All dragonkin have received new models. Dragonspawn, Drakonids, Drakes, Dragons, Whelps. Thanks to Atraxian over at wowmodding.net for his models. Other new models include Yeti, Obsidian Destroyers, Gorillas, Lashers and more. Go check King Mukla in Jaguero Isle!
- Wildhammer Gryphon and Armored version have new models.

About Darkshore update: Unfortunately a power blackout corrupted my mpq while I was working on it, so I had to use an old backup. All of my buildings and custom doodads are ok, but I have to patch them in, change old files, and retroport some assets that I didn't save the first time. It's still coming, but it's gonna take a while.

Paladin mount is all green - seems to be missing texture.

Hello, ty in advance for this new content, but can you please show us some pictures from quilboars and more, and one more question is compatible with another patchs like the armor and structure patchs from the forum¿

The first Paladin mount is still showing green. The epic one seems fine.

I tried the HD patch yesterday and I can only say ''Good Job''!

As my suggestions:

-Some ogres inside LBRS appear with white texture.
-Some items like Morning Glory Dew appear as red question mark in the inventory.
-The infernal summoned by the Warlock class sometimes looks GIANT. Like very very big in the screen.

Great work on updating this. I've noticed a lack of eye glow on High elves. Not a huge deal, but it looks a bit off.

Thank you! Yeah, as far as I understand, this is a compromise to get the Dark Ranger skin working. These are Watchers3D's ports that I've included in this patch!

Holy Strike/Crusader Strike has no attack animation(used to be the normal special attack racial animation with glowing hands)
Also, Zeal(buff) which is applied through Crusader Strike has Blessing of Wisdom animation on both the paladin and the target that got hit which is kinda wierd, i would revert all of this to the original turtle wow animation which was added in cc2

Hey! thanks for the amazing work! don't know if here is the appropiate place to report something, but the Talent spell "Icicles" from mage, doesn't have any animation whatsoever, I believe it needs fixing?

First of all I want to thank you for the work!
But I think I've spotted some bug, it is related to spells.

When I use crusader strike the animation of updated "Blessing of Wisdom" appears both on the character, and the attacked mob.

Great to see some new life in the HD mods, I've installed and and generally everything seems ok, so far, the only issue I've found is the "Red Skeletal Warhorse" which is appearing as a bright green Kodo!

Lightning Strike on shamans is currently putting a priest bubble on me instead of the lightning effect.

I've updated the patch and most spell-related bugs should be fixed. I don't have the means to test it, but Crusader Strike works and has the proper sound in my paladin. Other spells have yet to be tested.

Paladin and kodo mounts should be fixed.

Added some more models: Wind Serpent, Dryad, Centaur Khan.

And huge thanks to NeyMey for joining forces! We're aiming to make the best patch we can :)

Are we still supposed to use B,H, etc. with A, or is this now an all in one deal?

The mod will be updated soon to fix all the bugs found. You can also use this patch B to improve trees and bushes in some locations (mostly eastern kingdoms). This patch is safe and does not cause crashes. I specially prepared it for this patch A. It cannot be used without patch A, it only complements it and is an optional improvement of plant models.

Hello, first of all THANK YOU! Its amazing.
I especialy love the lack of glow on High elven eyes.
There is a skin bug on High Elf NPCs with specific skintone. I cant make screens right now, but its on NPCs that i believe have green eyes. One female NPCs affected is between Auction house and Bazaar.

EDIT.: NPCs name is Oriel Dendalion and there is aslo a male Bowyer NPC in AlahThalas named Laithor Morningleaf

The animation for Slam and Lightning Strike are broken, slam just makes your character shake his hand repeatedly and lightning strike looks like a priest shield, otherwise the patch is looking nice

This is due to the new hairs are not updated, only placeholders, I hope they could add the new hairs too cause that's the only reason for what I don't use the HD Patch.

The work you're doing is great, and I really appreciate the effort. I know there are some character model choices that are personal, but perhaps the city bosses should be more in line with the lore (vanilla). I saw that Thrall is his bald version from Catalysm. I don't mean that Sylvanas has to be the emo night elf that existed at the time, haha.

Finally added these guys. It was harder than I tought. For now, their candles will remain unlit. The animated fire texture was giving me too much trouble.

I'm looking into the spell issues. Unfortunately it's impossible to test those without a character of said class.
