Chen is canon, yes, BUT... Baasically all his MoP lore is not.
Pandaria is a small island, not a continent. Chen is from Pandaria the island, not some turtle.
He does not have a niece. (She's cute though so she may be integrated, sometimes we do bring good ideas from retail over but vanilla-fy them.)

Chen and Pandaren are part of Warcraft 3, you cannot rebuke them by calling them "cutecraft" while they are canon for 25 years and existed before WoW existed.
They are as much part of warcraft as nagas, scourge, or all other inventions from warcraft 3.
The pandaren brewmaster is in a lot of competitive WC3 games btw.
