Buff 2H FURY Warrior

Post by Raukodor » Mon Nov 22, 2021 12:55 pm

Hello turtle friends

As a 2h fury warrior i feel pretty weak compared with dual wielders

Admit it. Dual wield scales much better with talents and buffs.

2h fury is very fun but remember your main attack (bloodthirst) dont deppend of weapon damage. Just Ap (so same damage from a big fat 2h than a weak fast 1hander)

Some fury talents sucks in 2h (unbrided wrath is powerful in dual but sucks in 2h)

And you get much more flurry when dual wielding

In short. Dual wield is much better than 2h fury (ok slam maybe can do damage but still very inferior compared with dual wielding. And you cant move or recibe damage. And decisive strike dont change that)

SO MY SUGGESTION is create a passive skill that makes bloodthirst and whirlwind activate overpower when wield a 2hander

Why? Overpower causes instant weapon damage (so is good for 2h wielders) and when talented is almost a guaranteed crit. So is a source of activating flurry and a bonus to rage generation.

So this passive makes 2h fury more viable (getting more flurry. Rage and a real bonus of wearing a fat 2 hander). And more stance dancing wich is a plus for me of warrior concept

Maybe this could change the concept of warrior dps fury dual . And we'll see more 2h warriors

What do you think?

let me share my experience as a 2h fury main raiding naxx with ashbringer:

its fun! i dont think it needs drastic changes, dps is highly competitive to dual wield. we definitely DONT need decisive strike, at least not in its current form since it is plain and simple just a dps downgrade compared to slam (0.5 seconds longer casting time) and I wont ever use it. i see it only semi useful while leveling, but it looks like you get this spell way too late (at 60?)

what i figured out along the way while gearing up my character, to make this spec work:
- you want to aim for ~30% crit chance unbuffed in berserker stance
- you want a slow weapon (3.6 or slower)
- windfury is your best friend (thats not really news :P )
- use slam after a white hit, even with windfury (dont mindlessly hamstring spam) there are good guides for TBC describing arms warrior rotation, pretty much do the same

so if your goal is to boost 2h fury dps slightly, consider a simple talent change: change improved slam to be a 2/2 rather than a 5/5 talent. in a typicall 2h fury slam build, one uses 4/5 in slam. this would free up 2 points, which can be used in improved execute. your slam cast is now 0.1 second faster + your executes hit harder -> 2h fury dps slightly improved without messing with dual wield warriors.

My thoughts goes more to leveling/solo

Withouth full dps gear and buffs/totems

With leveling plate gear and without those buffs and windfury

And for leveling slam suck a bit you know.

This is why i posted it. For improve the leveling/solo 2h fury warrs (not only viable for raiding)

And what about giving bloodthirst +weapon damage bonus? A little incentive to 2h fury
