Additional animated emotes

Post by Zejgar » Sat Nov 13, 2021 7:24 pm

Is it feasible to add more emotes accompanied by character animations?

Existing emotes like /gasp, /talkq, /point etc. are very useful in situations when I want my character to play certain animations, but there is quite a number of animations that, as far as I know, cannot be triggered on unconditional demand, such as the stun animation loop (even listed as an emote animation in the data), the melee animation (personally, not sure why /slap doesn't trigger it by default) and the combat ready loop (right now relies on having an attackable target within range).

Seeing how the game's graphics and mechanics enrich roleplaying sessions that are otherwise reliant on pure text, having some kind of an option to trigger more animations on demand would provide more visual flavor. Thanks!

I'm afraid not.

Not without somebody that knows how to animate, and sadly we do not have that

I have to make sure I'm not misunderstood; my question is about creating ways of playing already existing in-game animations that cannot be played on demand, not about introducing completely new animations. If the answer is still negative, then so be it and thanks for replying!

Ah, I misunderstood.

Frankly I have no idea so I will let someone else answer :)

What I'd love is if some of them actually activated sounds. I an unsure, but it seems to me that in Vanilla the number of animations that emit sound is much lower than TBC and onward. Or maybe even that in Classic.

At a minimum, I'd love it if ROAR worked.
