Enchanting parchments
Any chance parchments could be introduced in order to be able to trade enchants?

Anyone else? Cmon guys, everyone will benefit from this...
Re: Enchanting parchments
A part of me likes the idea. It definitely makes things more convenient.
At the same time, I would say the one negative with this idea is that it cuts down on the social interaction element that the profession has. It's a different, less social experience to just buy an enchant scroll off the market than it is to ask around and find an enchanter to do it for you.
But at the same time, I like the idea since other professions can put some of their wares on the auction house. Maybe it'd be good to have some enchants scrollable, while others (like, say, Crusader) need to be done in-person by an enchanter. Just my opinion.

Re: Enchanting parchments
Only if they'd make a NPC that would unlock boxes for us, too. And one for portals to various cities. Maybe one where I can give the NPC mats and order a certain recipe of gear.
Re: Enchanting parchments
I know you're being sarcastic, but you can already mail a rogue lockboxes to have them unlock them, and there are NPCs who will craft things for you. Letting enchanters pay to be treated like every other profession is not some game breaking idea.

Re: Enchanting parchments
All due respect, it doesn't even begin to compare right clicking to unlock a box or casting a portal to having a host of recipes with a lot of different materials.Merikkinon wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 9:17 pmOnly if they'd make a NPC that would unlock boxes for us, too. Which is why it's much easier to find a rogue or a mage to do those things than getting an enchanter with a high enough skill.

Also, if devs are reading this - happy to help implement!

Re: Enchanting parchments
if it's for budget enchant/low level enchants i support it 100%
High level enchants requiring nexus crystals and similar i'd rather have it via trade only

Re: Enchanting parchments
Soon as we disallow people to craft for alts on every other profession I'll be fine keeping enchanters from doing it. 'Til then, absolutely no reason to disallow it.
Re: Enchanting parchments
This is a pretty great suggestion because it could create more of a market for lower end enchants, while still maintaining the social aspect at the end game.Reploidrocsa wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 11:20 amif it's for budget enchant/low level enchants i support it 100%

Re: Enchanting parchments
I get the social aspect of it, but I'm not sure how isolating one profession will help, as it is already unfair.

Re: Enchanting parchments
Bumping this one up for devs! Pretty please add to next patch!
Re: Enchanting parchments
The parchment should be expensive so that in person enchanting is so much cheaper than people would still prefer it.
Low level would need 5s parchment, and higher lvl ones would require better, more expensive pater, skalling all the way up to 1g for high lvl enchant.
The best enchants would need a parchments thaz can't be bough from npcs.
This would help keep some sozial interaction but also allow enchant sale on ah
Otherwise, if its too easy, its the start of removing one step after another what made vanilla Great and wrath suck. For convenience sake.

I don't support this idea. It's the proverbial start of a slippery slope in my opinion and I agree with what Merikkinon said.

That's great, he actually conceded and agreed with the change :)Ingameacc12345 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:55 amI don't support this idea. It's the proverbial start of a slippery slope in my opinion and I agree with what Merikkinon said.
I don't think this is a slipper slope to anything. It's unfair that this profession is the only one that cannot be more easily be used for trading, even before considering how much more difficult it is to get the mats.

Re: Enchanting parchments
I don't want to go into discussion simply because I'm sure TWoW will not implement this, however replying to your statement - well, Engineering would like to have a word with you (*and* it's a PITA to level up).Undertaker wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:31 pmIt's unfair that this profession is the only one that cannot be more easily be used for trading
Re: Enchanting parchments
There's a difference between most of your stuff not selling on the AH and not being allowed to list them at all.
Re: Enchanting parchments
Gives us field engineering as secondary profession or survival extension.
Why? Because engineering is almost required for pvp and proper nix maxing.
Secondary prof that allows grenade throwing would alleviate this a lot and also open a huge market for engineers to sell grenades.
Sry for off topic, but previous 2 comments had me tempted to reply
V+ just made grenades have to restrictions. Which is also not good because it will make those 2 recipes pointless for the no engineer grenades.
Field engineer would atleast need orper secondary Prof, keeping the ez trow grenades somewhat relevant

Solid idea. This will actually make me consider using enchantments before level cap.

Re: Enchanting parchments
Engineering is not a fair comparison, because you actually need to have Engineering skill to use some of the items so there is an advantage over other professions. This is not applicable to enchanting (at least not for Vanilla).Ingameacc12345 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:41 pmI don't want to go into discussion simply because I'm sure TWoW will not implement this, however replying to your statement - well, Engineering would like to have a word with you (*and* it's a PITA to level up).Undertaker wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:31 pmIt's unfair that this profession is the only one that cannot be more easily be used for trading
Re: Enchanting parchments
I'm all for this
and perhaps make them cheap so that players are encourged to trade lower level enchants
