Weekly gold quests

(This idea assumes the regular gold farms will be nerfed, like the lasher farm).

Weekly set of quests (2-4) for a respective number of dungeons for level 60s. Varying gold rewards depending on the dungeon difficulty/longevity. Could also include or replace dungeons with raids.

Why?
  • It allow raiders to cover their consumables gold cost, lowering the incentive to buy gold. Regular gold farm methods are boring and repeatable 24/7, which incentivizes botting.
  • It incentivizes people to do dungeons/raids. In full groups because there is no downside for bringing in more people, unlike those DM:E 2-3 people farms, for example.
  • Classes and roles, that aren't good in gold farming, will not be at a disadvantage, because the new method incentivizes group play. Having a separate character just for gold farming is bad game design.
More gold for bots?
Even if bots will manage to do them, it lowers their advantage over regular players because of how front loaded the gold rewards are. After completing the weeklies it will have to rely on the old nerfed methods, which yield less gold per hour.

Why weeklies instead of dailies?
It lowers the pressure on the player to log-in every day and reduces the gold gap between players that play every day and players that only play a few days a week.



As a result players will do a number of weekly quests for gold instead of having to gold farm, or "having them turn to the dark side" and buy gold.

Definitely needs to be some kind of daily Dungeon quest that rewards gold and a choice of consumables.

Could be argued that consumable rewards reduce the demand for alchemy or other profession services, which is probably not good, since it reduces player interaction.

I agree if that weekly quest will give a some consumables (elexirs/flasks), but not with gold reward.
As more gold there is out of thin air, the higher inflation will be.

That's why this suggestion assumes that it will accompany gold grind nerfs, as I mentioned in the top. There should be the same amount of gold for regular players, as it replaces the gold grind for regular players. People can still farm gold on top of it, but open world stuff is limited in supply and instanced gold farm should be nerfed, so there should be no gold inflation. As a bonus bots won't be able to benefit much from farming 24/7.
