I have found this to be the original IMC. Whether true or not, this appears to be a good starting point for the discussion.
I find a lot of this too be a bit extreme for myself, but welcome others opinions and feedback. I think that a fun, fair, and challenging way to play would be to alter the way the experience is when done completely alone, and with the risk on perma-death. Excluding things such as professions and talents takes away from the choices to customize ones character to try and solo the game on a single life.Do Not Die! - the most important rule of the challenge.
No gear higher than White quality.
No enchantments on your gear
No Talents allowed.
Skills you have from your class (like Warlock Healthstones or Mage Stones) ARE ALLOWED since these are available to your class without having to pick a talent.
No Primary Professions allowed.
No Secondary Professions allowed.
No ELIXIRS, POTIONS or FLASKS used.
Cannot join a party, raid or group with the intent of getting help to further yourself in the challenge.
You CANNOT send yourself gold, bags, gear, whatever to assist in the challenge.
Using mage portals and warlock summons is not allowed.
No dungeons, raids, or battlegrounds allowed.
No food buffs or other external buffs are allowed.
Class abilities, racials and personal buffs (eg. Might if you’re a Paladin, healthstones for warlocks, mage portals for mages) are okay!
I therefore propose the following for the TurtleWoW IMC:
Some classes and spec's may make the journey easier, such as those that have a pet, or those that have healing, but all classes and spec's should be allowed as the purpose should be more to enjoy the game in a unique way for yourself. Talent choices will vary differently without the need to care about party symbiosis. Your professions will generally be between something to guarantee you with decent gear progression, or a steadier supply of potions and elixirs.Do Not Die! - the most important rule of the challenge.
No groups, dungeons, raids, or battlegrounds allowed.
No trading with other players, Auction House or mail (received) allowed.
Using mage portals, portable wormhole generator, or warlock summons is not allowed.
Glyph of Exhaustion required.
Only gear obtained via drops, quests, crafting, and vendors is allowed.
All professions are allowed, but pick wisely.
You must click off all buffs from any outside source (world buffs, players, npcs)
