Yeah probably for the best, I think trinkets with over 10 min cd was disabled too for tbc/wotlk arenas.Ragetto wrote: Mon Apr 08, 2024 11:14 pmLike in TBC/WotLK, I would say, meaning a limitation on the types of consumables as well as spells with too long cooldowns.Elleshar wrote: Mon Apr 08, 2024 10:08 pm If rated arenas were ever to become a thing, should consumes maybe be restricted to just conjured items like it is in retail?
Excessive use of powerful consumables would ruin everything, I believe.
But well, until we get to that point...

Re: Rated blood ring
I think you could allow some consumes.
Without free action potion playing pug warrior may as well just be an instant loss.
Also would you ban nades??
Could definitely ban the sleep trinket and sleep dust. Maybe make it so invon sets off a CD so you can't icelock 2x, lip, then get a bop.
Banning all consumes seems too much imo.

I don't care too much tbh, all I want is some competetive place to pvp. The details aren't so important and could be iterated on imo :)Chudman123 wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2024 5:43 am I think you could allow some consumes.

i check this topic on weekly basis for almost a year.
Still, the rated arena has not yet been initiated.
I actually began to believe that it will not happen here.

Yea, and I've been checking it as well since i started it in September. Starting to lose hope. Turtle not having rated arenas is the only thing that makes me consider epoch over itTastinggoman wrote: Sun May 05, 2024 1:41 am i check this topic on weekly basis for almost a year.

Re: Rated blood ring
I'll just say one thing, apart from bandages and healthstone if you're with warlock and food/water if ur with mage, there should be no consumables. Also ban the obvious Lay on Hands/Recklessness and whatever else was banned on Tbc.
Re: Rated blood ring
same item rules as tbc/wrath for arenas is the way to go imo. So yes, I totally agree with u. Maybe ban skull of impending doom also, but its not so major.Griffith961 wrote: Wed May 08, 2024 11:01 pm I'll just say one thing, apart from bandages and healthstone if you're with warlock and food/water if ur with mage, there should be no consumables. Re: Rated blood ring
Totally agree, rated arenas is loved by so many in later expansions. It's a feature that shouldnt be so hard to implement and would be loved by the pvp communityBorefficz wrote: Thu May 09, 2024 8:09 am Yes please it would give me the reason to actually play the game instead of either raidlogging or sitting in Orgrimmar selling enchants

Re: Rated blood ring
As a competitive PvP player and former Arena Tournament tryhard, I would love to see rated arenas (and even battlegrounds) introduced to Turtle WoW! However, I understand that the server’s main focus is roleplay, so here’s my suggestion:
Introduce 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 arenas, and I'll explain how and the reasoning for this.
First, add rated arenas similar to what we know from other expansions. Players would form teams and compete for ratings, with a leaderboard showcasing the top teams. It would be awesome to award titles to the top teams, much like in later expansions.
Additionally, a feature called Wargames (or Mak’gora, for lore purposes) could be implemented. This would allow players to queue up, see the names of other teams in the queue (Maybe just the party leaders name), and challenge them directly. The opposing team would have to accept the match, giving players the freedom to choose their opponents. This is perfect for creating RP events, as teams could roleplay within the arena without the pressure of ratings (since you shouldn't gain rating or rep from these matches). That way you cannot abuse it to gain rating or rep.
Another cool addition to Wargames (or Mak’gora) would be the 5v5 1v1 format, also known as subwars. In this mode, teams send in one player at a time, with the next player entering as soon as the previous one dies. This creates exciting possibilities, like a 1v5 comeback scenario! I used to play this format on a private server years ago, and it was an absolute blast. Here's a newer video that shows how fun it can be.
The third and arguably best reason to add Wargames (Mak’gora) is for tournaments. Tournaments would offer players a way to create events, with or without gold prizes, fostering a sense of community and giving endgame players a reason to keep playing and competing against one another. To make this work, a spectate option would be essential, allowing players to watch games live without participating. This would make setting up tournaments easier, though duel tournaments in stv works too! (shoutout to @S4rs for the awesome duel tournament!).
In my opinion, ranked arenas should focus on the 2v2 and 3v3 brackets, as 1v1 and 5v5 formats don’t feel as balanced. That said, it wouldn’t bother me if they were included. This system could also work in battlegrounds, both ranked and the Wargames. Imagine a 40v40 AV RP event! If that’s not a roleplayers wet pvp dream, I don’t know what is.

Re: Rated blood ring
All of these suggestions sound great. But I don't think the server's population can keep them all active. I'd prefer if they only added like 1v1 and / or 2v2 first, since it requires the least people. I doubt 3v3, 5v5 and rated BG queue would pop unfortunately. In a perfect world I'd like all though, with constant queue popHardcorehygge wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 10:31 am As a competitive PvP player and former Arena Tournament tryhard, I would love to see rated arenas (and even battlegrounds) introduced to Turtle WoW!
