Statue of Momo
I don't know if the model DB has this, but I'd like to see a statue of a dead gnome mage stating: "Here lies Momo, Bringer of Frost, Master of Threat. Beloved water-spender and biscuit-vendor"

Re: Molten Core - Sundays @ 6pm (18:00) server time
dibs on Thunderstrike I discussed with the raid and we all agreed that you will be the first player on the realm that gets Thunderstrike as it drops. Enjoy the Nexus Crystal. btw: @everybody else on Turtle: we still have a few raidspots to fill. Mages and Melee would be awesome and a little healing...

This could be done via a website that accesses the server data.
Adding ingame APIs is very unlikely to be possible, unless were talking about a "dot" command.

Re: patch?
I can't imagine there being client side patches.
Currently patches to the server are rolled out via a server restart (and it helps to delete your WDB folder before logging in)

Re: Dynamic Raid Scaling
I have some feedback from testing MC for a few weeks now. Please keep in mind that this is the first private server I played ever, so all memory stems back from retail vanilla (which is quite some time ago). My feedback is based on raids with between 16 and 22 people, so keep that in mind. Trash Tra...

According to the very link you provided, that chain may seem "unfinished", but it's just like in vanilla WoW.

Re: Dynamic Raid Scaling
Can you help me out what you mean by "downsized"?
Do you mean
a) less loot-drops per boss
b) lower stats on the gear
c) both a) and b)
d) something else I didn't think of

Re: Ideas for item drops in the new dungeon
I think I'm misunderstanding what you originally meant so I just want to clarify this for me.Effect: Increases damage done by Arcane spells and effects by up to 50% of your total mana.
As a mage I have 4k mana.
So at full mana arcane explosion adds up to 4000 damage?

Re: Portable Black Hole API error IsInventoryItemLocked()
just looked through the code. I WILL reinvent the wheel here because the codebase is... well... it sucked back in the day when it was written. But I know what needs to be done. I'd recycle as much as I can from the entity structure to keep it compatible with existing exporters and stuff, but I'd rat...

Re: Portable Black Hole API error IsInventoryItemLocked()
from a quick glimpse this looks like "TurtleHead", did I get that right?
Since it's PHP (which is my goto language) yes, that is something I could help with.
I'd try to get the search faster, though, since I know my way around Elasticsearch.

Re: Portable Black Hole API error IsInventoryItemLocked()
I wonder whether IsInventoryItemLocked has an upper bound so it can only return integers between 1 and 112 (28 Slots bags like Soulbags, Miningbags etc.)
With the 4 PBHs I get above that number.

Portable Black Hole API error IsInventoryItemLocked()
It seems that the API call fails on high bag slot ids.
I have 4 PBH on me and if I sort Trinkets to the bottom bag, GearMenu throws an LUA error.
Is this something that's purely client side or something that can be fixed on the server side of things?

Re: Dynamic Raid Scaling
The more I think it through the less I like it. I don't know about you, but raiding things like MC and Ony and (to a degree) BWL are more than trivial. The challenge for me is to get 40 people working together. And the reward is getting me AND the other 39 people sweet purples apart from my main mot...

Re: Dynamic Raid Scaling
I'd need to jump into this to actually see how it works. Some things from the top of my head that I could think of could be an issue with smaller raids. - Decursing on Chromaggus - Skeletons on Nefarian - Healers on Patchwerk (depending on whether Hateful Strike counts as spell or not) I sense balan...

Re: Mob reborn rates
a) a level difference: even two or three levels can drop your damage against mobs significantly. You should aim to kill mobs of your level and up to two levels below. Jup, that's the part I still need to re-learn from retail. Grinding two levels is really tough :) Nothing to change, though. b) a la...

Re: Mob reborn rates
I'd like to ask for opinions (or maybe someone remembers). There is a quest in the Wetlands called "The cursed Crew". I DO remember that this quest was tough as a solo warrior. I tried it yesterday with a hunter. There is a total of 4 mobs I can effectively pull single or in a pack of two....

Re: Mob reborn rates
Indeed, the article states that looting something won't make it respawn faster, but I'm talking about not looting a mob making it despawn slower and then following its normal unaffected respawn time circle. It's a thin line but yeah, it actually was like that back in the day and I remember many pla...

Re: Mob reborn rates
I doubt the values on the server are accurate. I've been trying to finish a quest but will give up for the day since my frustration level is at 320%. My observations from trying to do a level 9 quest on a NE warrior in the starting zone: a) Caster DPS is way off. A regular mob 3 levels beneath me sh...

Caster DPS seems a bit off
I'm new to the server and started out questing in the NE starting zone. I noticed that caster mob DPS seems a bit off the charts. While I do remember Vanilla being hard, dying off a lvl6 caster as a level 8 char with a foodbuff seems pretty odd to me. I noticed this with Gnarlpine Mystics and Shadow...
