Hi, you can find comments about those two dwarves on wowhead. Some are dated before the 1.12 (2005) patch, and some others after TBC launch (2007).
So this is unfortunately not a bug.
But no worries! You're not the only one that have been surprised by those two guys! haha^^

Because you've got to go to the hunter trainer of the capital city your character is related to.
Your a dwarf, go to Irongorge. Orc? Orgrimmar and so on.

Well, it would not be a surprise that the increased view distance affects the performances on some systems. Since the wow engine does frustrum culling. No changes aswell unfortunatly. I tried with v-sync on, v-sync off. And after that V-sync off with rtss caped fps at 30, same with v-sync on.
Tried to tweak my graphic card through the nvidia control panel for wow.exe, no effect.
